Random Bits and Pieces

I'm tired today. For no real reason to be honest, just tired. Kaylee is FINALLY starting to sleep better. Out of the past 10 days she has slept through the night (about 10-11 hours) 7 nights. The other nights she has gotten up once. Compared to what she was doing the past 4 months this has been SUCH an improvement. It is so nice for Vince and I to actually be getting some sleep again. (now I am just praying that I didn't jinx this by saying something)

*****
Last Monday I put in my 2 weeks notice at work. Totally random, I know. I wasn't planning on it. I honestly wasn't even out looking for a new job, it just kind of fell into my lap.

It's kind of a long story, but basically I got offered a position to work as an office manager for a company I used to work for during breaks while I was in college. It's corporate run medical practice. They currently own 9 offices and are in the process of acquiring a couple new ones. One of their current managers left unexpectedly so my old boss contacted me about the position. I will be training for a few months before running one of the offices. I am really excited about it. The office is still very close to home and the hours are about the same. I will actually get home a little earlier every day which will be nice. Also once I am done with training it will be a pretty significant (to me at least) pay raise, which is one of the main reasons I couldn't pass the job up.

So, even though I am a little sad about leaving some of the people I work with now, I am really looking forward to this new opportunity. I start on March 1st so this will be my last week at my current job and then I will have a few days off between to relax and spend time with my baby girl.

*****
This weekend Vince and I got so much stuff done around the house. We cleaned top to bottom. Like really cleaned. Cleaned the baseboards, shampooed the carpets, organized closests, put away old baby stuff that K doesn't need anymore, etc. We finally hung a new picture in Kaylee's room that I had bought about 6 weeks ago and has been leaning against her changing table ever since and put up some pictures in our room that have been there since we moved in SIX months ago.

It felt good to get it all done. Now I just need to get the motivation to paint all 3 of our bathrooms. Maybe I will try to get at least one done on one of my days off next week. Maybe

*****

We signed Kaylee up for swim lessons. She starts next Saturday and I can't wait! She loves bath time and is constantly bending over and dunking her head under the water so I am really hoping that she will enjoy actually being in a pool.

I am however not looking forward to putting on a bathing suit. I am WAY too pale for that right now. Also, I only have bikinis. I don't own a single one piece or tankini and I think I would feel odd wearing a little bikini to an infant swim lesson. So I guess that means I will have to go bathing suit shopping, which I hate, sometime before next weekend.

*****

Speaking of bathing suits. I have not lost as much weight as I want yet, but I am working on it. So far I have lost 7lbs. Which I am happy about, but I just can't seem to lose anymore right now. I am going to try to start spending more time working out and see if that will help some.

*****

Ok that's really all I have got for right now. Now back to work (which by the way it is very hard to stay motivated when I know I am leaving in a few days).

A Simple Valentine's Day

This is my 12th Valentine's Day with Vince. Yes, twelve. But this is my FIRST year not getting him a gift.

We decided a couple weeks ago that since there was nothing either of us wanted or needed this year, it kind of seemed like a waste of money to get anything. So we agreed to not do gifts, we said not even cards this year.

Well of course last night on my way home from work I started feeling bad that I hadn't done anything so I at least stopped and picked up his favorite candy and 2 cards (one from me and one from Kaylee) so I could have something to give him this morning. And I'm glad I did. Because when I came downstairs this morning there were a dozen roses and two cards (one from him and one from K.. yes we are both cheesy like that) sitting on our kitchen island.

No big gifts, but still something small to let each other know we were thinking about one another. And tonight we are getting sushi, a bottle of red wine and watching the Bachelor that we recorded last night.

It's been a sweet simple Valentine's Day.

Don't get me wrong I always liked the bigger gifts in the past, but I still like this Valentine's Day just as much.

Plus this is the first Valentine's Day we got to share with this little girl and really what more of a gift could we want anyways ;)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

A Little iPhone Recap

I know, I know I have been MIA again.

I didn't mean to take a break from blogging, but sometimes it just happens. So anyways I'm back now and I figured what better way to recap than by scrolling through my iphone pictures from the past couple of weeks, right? ;)

******

We have had a couple family dinner date nights. Thankfully Miss Kaylee been really good lately about going out to restuarants and just sitting in her highchair playing with toys. It's been nice to get to go out to eat once in awhile.

We have been working on trying new foods. Pasta seems to be a favorite right now.

I have gotten flowers from the hubby (twice actually).

We have stopped using any kind of baby bathtub or bath mat and she now just sits in the tub like a big girl.

The past 2 weekends while the baby napped I have curled up and napped with this guy.

We had a fun night out at Vince's work party.

A few weeks ago Kaylee had a reaction while taking antibiotics. So last week I had to take her to the allergist for testing. Over 3 hours of lots of tests and crying... all to find out it wasn't the medicine. Fun. Poor baby.

This past Saturday night Vince and I had a date night just the two of us and on Sunday we stayed home in our PJ's and watched the Superbowl with our favorite girl.

Yesterday was my mom's 50th birthday and we sent her these cute cupcake flowers (since her actual gift is a little late and won't be there until tomorrow). She also got an iPad from my dad so now we can FaceTime. I'm not sure who is more excited about this me or her ;)

And basically we have just spent a lot of time playing and cuddling with our little lady.

So what have you all been up to lately?

Plan M

I randomly saw this quote the other day and I thought it was kind of perfect for some things going on right now.  So I saved it on my phone and sent it to Vince. He called me and jokingly said "So what are we on now, plan M?".

The thing is Vince and I have been together since we were 15 years old. Basically since we were just kids. So over the years we have made lots of different plans and that have either not turned out like we thought or that we chose to change. And last week was one of those times where we decided to make some more changes. Career changes, for both of us.

I have mentioned before about my personal debate about whether or not I wanted to work full time anymore. To be honest even though Kaylee is now 8 months old I still hadn't made up my mind. I was starting to lean heavily towards switching to part-time. So last week I went to talk to my office manager about what she thought about it and what sort of schedule I could make work. But when I went in there before I could even say a word she said she was glad I came by because she had been wanting to talk to me about changing my position.

Our company is made up of about 90 offices nationwide. My office manager runs our office and one of the other local offices. She wants to transition me into running her other office. It's a promotion which means more money, but also more work. It is a position that I really want and would have jumped at without a second thought before. Now, I'm not sure I want to take on a bigger job. So, after talking to her about it I am going to slowly start transitioning in February so that by spring I would be able to take it over. If I want to. She said we would use these next few months as a test run to see if it's something I want to do or not. If not, then I can stay with what I am doing and go part-time. It's completely up to me. I'm not going to lie I am a little nervous about taking on a bigger role, but also a little excited and happy that she trusts me to do it. So for now I am taking it one day at a time and seeing how it plays out.

Like I said we both made changes last week.

For the past 2 years Vince has been working 2 jobs. Not because he had to, but because there wasn't anywhere else to move with his old full time position and he wanted to switch to a different career. So he had to start at the bottom with the new company and work part time until he was able to move up. He has worked so hard the past couple of years trying to earn his spot. Well before the holiday he was finally moved up. He quit his other job and was back to only working 1 job. It's what he had worked is butt off (literally, he lost 40 lbs because of all the work) trying to get to for the past 2 years. And now that he finally had the position he wanted, he hated it. Seriously. It was a really hard thing to see him work so hard and be so disappointed. He wasn't going to switch jobs, he said he would just deal with it. But hating your work is miserable and I didn't want it to be like that for him.

So last week after a lot of talking we decided it was best for him and our family if he quit. We are lucky that his mom's company was able to take him on full time so that it was an even an option for him to quit. He is now in the process of looking for something else. We have a pretty good idea of where he will end up, but I don't want to jinx anything until that's finalized.

Honestly, I am just happy to have my husband working a normal schedule so we can actually see him again.

So for now we are both working on figuring out "Plan M" and seeing where this takes us.

Happy Monday!

Friendship

I've always loved this quote and find it to be so true. I don't alway get to spend as much time with my friends as I would like, but I know that they are always there no matter what.

I think I get so busy with working, being a wife and a mom that I sometimes forget how important it is to still make time for my friends too. Lately I have been lucky in the fact that I have gotten to spend a lot more time getting together with some of my closests friends. Whether it was going away to see some of them, having them come over to see Kaylee, or having a friend come over with her husband so we can all hang out together, it's definitely been nice to see more of them. It's amazing how just spending a little more time with them can really make me happy.

I want to start making more of an effort to do more things with my friends. Everyone needs some quality friend time every now and then :)

Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Busy January

This year has started off extremely busy. Which is why I haven't posted much recently.

The past 3 weekends we have been traveling. We went to Avalon, NJ for New Years with Vince's family, Vermont to go skiing the following weekend with my family, and then this past weekend I went down to DC on Friday night so I could go dress shopping on Saturday for my friend's wedding. The past few weekends have been a lot of fun, but also exhausting. I am looking forward to a quieter more laid back weekend coming up.

On top of all of that work has seemed none stop hectic lately. I'm honestly not sure why. It's always like that at the very end of the year, but usually by January things start to slow back down to a normal pace again. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.

*****

Kaylee is sick. AGAIN. You can tell just by looking at her that she feels miserable.

She was acting ok on Saturday night when I got home from DC and she went to bed like normal. But at 11pm she woke up screaming and that didn't stop until a little after 2am. She was exhausted from all the crying by then and finally passed out in my arms, where she stayed asleep until morning. So we went to the urgent care center on Sunday and the poor baby has bronchitis (with the croupy cough) and a double ear infection. Ugh. I just want winter to be over and her to get healthy again.

I hate when she's sick. The ONLY upside is that she is super clingy when she isn't feeling well and just wants to be snuggled. These days cuddling is rare since she usually just wants to be on the floor playing, so I am trying to at least enjoy getting to just hold her more.

*****

I dyed my hair brown yesterday. I get bored easily and like to change my hair a lot. Vince's cousin came over and we went to CVS and got some dye. The first time we did it, it was a a lighter brown and too much of the blonde was still showing. So when I went back the the pharmacy to get Kaylee's medicine I picked up a darker color and did it again. That made it look so much better. I'm happy with it. I've always liked being dark. Unfortunately my hair doesn't usually hold dark color too well so if I decide to keep it I will have to dye it quite a bit. So knowing me I will be probably get sick of that and be blonde again by summertime. But for now, I like the change.

*****

Sometimes I feel like I don't give my husband enough credit for how much he does. He works about 60-70 hours a week, he's great with Kaylee, he helps with the cleaning, the cooking, you name it whatever I need him to do he does without complaint.

This weekend I was going to originally wait until Saturday to leave for DC, but he called and told me I should go Friday night when he got home from work. He said I needed time with my friends and a night to be just me. I have never had a night away from Kaylee before because I always get too nervous about it, but he was right I needed it. I obviously missed her, but it was nice to just get some time with the girls.

There were multiple times this weekend I found myself stopping and thinking about how grateful I am to have him in my life. I need to take the time to tell him that more often.

*****

All the TV shows are finally back. It's kind of sad how happy that makes me. My dvr is already packed again. I am really looking forward to catching up on some of it this weekend (and maybe today if Kaylee takes a nap).

OK well that's about all I have for now. I hope everyone had a good weekend! Happy Monday :)

My Personal Struggle

A friend of mine at work has been trying really hard to lose weight. So far she has dropped about 25lbs mainly just by starting to exercise regularly.

Friday last week she was in my office talking about wanting to join Weight Watchers to lose the last 20lbs. She wanted someone to do the program with and since she had heard me talking about wanting to lose some weight too she asked me to do it with her. So on Friday we both signed up. I honestly didn't even really look at it much until Tuesday after the long weekend.

I put in my height and weight and I am in the "healthy" weight range for my height, but I am pushing towards the top of the range. I would ideally like to be closer to the bottom. I made my goal to lose 20lbs. Realistically I think I will be happy if I can just lose about 15.

I want to explain WHY I personally decided to join. At first I wasn't going to post about this but I seem to be getting a lot of questions when I tell people I joined WW. Even my mom and Vince questioned me when I told them. I know I don't need to lose weight, but the thing is I want to. And if I am going to do it I figured I should make sure I do it in a healthy way.

The reason I want to lose the weight is more of self confidence issue rather than a number on the scale.

After Kaylee was born I struggled

It's taken me awhile to be able to admit that and say those words out loud. I got pretty depressed for awhile. You may have noticed I completely stopped blogging the first few months and that's why.

Around 6 weeks after I had Kaylee my Doctor diagnosed me with severe PPD. I honestly do not think that I was "severe", but I was depressed. I literally did not talk to anyone but Vince about it. Not my best friends or even my mom. I kind of shut the world out for awhile. I was embarrassed and it was a really hard thing for me to admit I was going through.

It really had nothing to do with Kaylee, I love being a mom more than anything. It had more to do with other things going on at the time. I don't want to go into the details about it, at least not right now. But about the time Kaylee was 4 months old I started to feel a lot better and by the time she was 5 months old I was able to talk to my friends about it some. I had a pretty long conversation with 2 of my best friends from college while they were visiting one weekend. About a week later one of the girls sent me a book she found about PPD.

It may sound funny, but it was the book Kendra Wilkinson wrote after she had her son. I never would have thought to read her story, but it really did help. She wrote a lot about how she struggled with PPD afterwards and a lot of what she said hit home. One way that she was able to get back to feeling like her normal self was through diet and exercise. She wanted to get her self confidence back. And that's where I'm at now.

I feel happy and healthy, but I am still missing something. I want to have a positive self image again.

So without dragging this post out anymore than I already have, that's why I joined Weight Watchers. To work on myself. To be able to feel confident when I look in the mirror again.

I have no idea how much of a challenge it's going to be to lose the weight, but I know that I am ready to try.

Random Bits and Pieces and A Video

Last night sucked. We lost the Sugar Bowl (stupid refs).

I stayed up till midnight watching in suspense (and tweeting with my favorite hokies of course) and holding my breath hoping we would win it in overtime. It was so close.

I woke up this morning tired and cranky about the loss, but no matter what I still love my Hokies.

*****
On a more positive note, New Years was a lot of fun. Vince's parents and a couple of their family and friends rented a house down at the beach for the weekend. It's nice because his parents are best friends with our friends parents. So whenever they plan stuff we get to all tag along too. There were 18 people all together that came. Obviously it wasn't exactly beach weather in January, but it was warm enough to at least walk on the beach and hangout on the decks.

Kaylee was fabulous all day long both days. Night however was a different story. With that many people up drinking late, it was loud and made it a struggle (aka a total nightmare) to get her to actually sleep. So I was pretty much exhausted by the time we got home Sunday, but other than that it was a great little getaway. I think they are already planning on doing it again next year.

******
Vince has been super busy at work because of the holidays. Even this week he hasn't been getting home until after Kaylee is already in bed. It sucks. He complains about not getting to see her and I complain about not getting to have dinner together until after 9pm. But oh well, such is life. At least the holidays are over and eventually things will slow down.

*****
This weekend my family is flying to their place in Vermont to go skiing. So Vince, Kaylee and I are all going to drive up after I get done work on Friday. I am SO excited to see them. I saw my mom last month, and my dad and I met for dinner not too long ago while he was here for work for the night. But I haven't seen my sister since August, which is just WAY too long and I miss her like crazy. I am looking forward to finally getting to spend time with just my family, Vince and Kaylee for 3 whole days. It's been too long since I have had all of my favorite people in one place. And I can't wait for them to see how much Kaylee has changed :)

*****
So I never post videos, but this one was too cute not to share. I laugh every time I watch it.

Last night while I was feeding Kaylee she kept reaching up and knocking the spoon out of my hand. I got frustrated and said "NO Kaylee" all loud and serious. I thought it would at least make her stop for a second. Instead, she just laughed. For the next half an hour anytime I said NO she would instantly crack up.

So of course I recorded it and sent it to my mom.

So, please excuse my annoying voice and Kaylee's food covered clothes (I promise my kid is not normally dirty).

A Relaxing Christmas :)

Christmas has come and gone. It went by too fast as usual, but it was great.  Probably one of my favorite holidays yet.

We had a big delicious Christmas Eve dinner with lots of family. Followed by an evening at home opening Christmas pajama's and watching a Christmas movie.

Christmas morning was spent with Vince's immediate family eating breakfast and exchanging gifts.

Around noon we went home and spent the rest of the day just the three of us.

We wanted to be able to start our own Christmas traditions as a family. We opened our gifts, played with Kaylee's toys, made Christmas dinner together, and ended the night with a movie and warm drinks. No driving all over the place all day long like normal. Just simple, sweet, quality family time.

It was a perfect Christmas.

Our families spoiled us more than we deserve, we both felt so loved and blessed.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.

For those of you who have off this week enjoy it! I'm jealous. For anyone else who is working like me, I hope the week goes by quickly so you get to enjoy another long holiday weekend coming up :)

******

Also, I had to share this picture. The day after Christmas we went shopping and before we left I couldn't help but notice how much older Kaylee is starting look.

Seriously, where did my baby go??

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

As I mentioned last week I had a few things to do to finish getting ready for the holidays, but I was looking around my house last night before going to bed and I think everything is finally ready. It's definitely looking like Christmas :)

The stockings are up and presents are wrapped and under the tree.

Christmas cards have been mailed and received :)

The decorations are out and the cookies have been made.

The lights are all up and Ty has been bathed.
(he was all white until he decided to get into the plant by the front door)

Now all that is left to do is finish this week of work and then relax and enjoy the holiday.

Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday week with all of your loved one!

*Thank you Shutterfly for the Christmas cards! And sorry for all the crappy iphone pictures, I was way too lazy to get out my real camera last night.

Who needs sleep anyways?

A couple of the guys at work have become new dads recently and yesterday we were all talking about the craziness of being a parent to an infant.

One of the guys has a 3 month old that has been sleeping through the night since he was 10 days old. Seriously. Yes, I'm jealous. But his son is also very colicky, so he said he cries all day long. He said he wouldn't mind if his son woke up during the night if it meant that he was happy throughout day.

The other dad was the exact opposite. His daughter is 4 months old and is happy as can be all day long, but is waking up multiple times every night. He was saying he would do anything to have just one night of sleep even if it meant his daughter was cranky during the day.

This made me think about if I was given the choice which is better?

I have had the joy (ha) of experiencing both sides of this with Kaylee.

When she was a couple months old she was a colicky, fussy baby all day.. BUT she slept 10 hours straight every single night. After she hit about 16 weeks old she turned into such a sweet, happy, content baby. But at night? She absolutely refuses to sleep. She goes to bed fine, but after that every night is different. Most often she is up just once, but we do have nights where she is up twice, and then there are those very rare random nights that she decides to give me a break and doesn't get up at all. (I would like those nights to happen more often. Please, Kaylee?!)

We have tried everything and she just won't sleep.

I miss my nights of peaceful sleep like crazy. There are times at 3am that I think like the 2nd dad and would deal with anything during the day just to have her sleep at night. But then once I'm up for the day and not in my middle of the night zombie mode, I know that's not true. I 100% percent would rather have her happy during the day. If I have to wake-up I might complain some, but I'll get over it.

Besides at this point I am getting used to functioning on no sleep.

I figure at some point she will sort it all out and realize she does in fact like sleeping. (with my luck, as soon as that happens I will be starting the whole process over again with another little one..) For now I will just enjoy all the smiles and laughs I get during the day (and maybe buy more concealer to cover up the dark circles under my eyes) and try to stop focusing on the stress of the long nights. Who needs sleep anyways?

12 Things About Me :)

There are only 12 days until Christmas! Can you believe it? I can't.

I still have some last minute gifts to get and cookies to bake. Ty needs to be groomed so that he looks all cute and clean for the holidays (just called and thankfully they had an opening for this weekend). I am making Christmas dinner this year so I need to decide what I am cooking and pick up groceries. But really, other than that I am pretty much all set and I am SO looking forward to our first holiday as a family of 3. ( 4 if you count Ty ;) )

Ever since I woke up today and realized there were only 12 days left I have had the song 12 Days of Christmas playing on repeat in my head. So, because of that I have decided to write down 12 (completely random) things you may not already know about me :)

1. I have a ridiculous obsession with hot peppers. Random, but true.

2. I am can be a neat freak. I don't like to clean, but I love a clean house. So, I clean a lot. I think it drives Vince crazy at times. I am constantly putting things away that he needs out just because I can't stand stuff just sitting around. It will be interesting to see how I handle all of Kaylee's toys once she is walking and all over the place haha.

3. I am a total Mama's girl. I very rarely make any decisions big or small without first consulting my mom.

4. I am scared of cats. No offense to people who have cats, but they freak me out. I had 2 growing up and they were both crazy.

5. I used to be a dancer. I danced from the time I was 5 until I quit right before senior year in high school. At one point I was dancing 20-25 hours a week. I miss it a ton now, and regret quitting when I did.

6. I was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota. My father was in the air force at the time so we lived on base.

7. Since Kaylee was born I have never gone a single day without showering. Before Kaylee I would usually shower twice a day. I sometimes wish I could skip a day here or there, but for some reason I just can't. I need that 10 minutes of me time.

8. I was president of my sorority in college. Having to be the one to set and enforce rules for 140 other girls wasn't always the easiest or the most fun job in the world, but I do truly love my sisters :)

9. Speaking of sisters, I typically only refer to my sister Samantha, but I do have other siblings. I have another half sister Brittnee who just turned 20 yesterday and a step brother Sean who will be 27 in January. I was raised with Sam so we are super close and she is one of my best friends. Brittnee and Sean both lived with my father in Florida before he passed away so I don't see them nearly as often as I would like, but we do still talk and keep in touch.

10. Scary movies are my favorite. Given the choice between watching a romantic comedy or a scary movie, I always go with the scary one.

11. When I was really little I wrote with my left hand. Then I started at a private school when I was 5 and they made me switch to writing with my right hand. For awhile I could still write with both, but now I only use my right hand.

12. When Vince and I first got engaged we both agreed we never wanted kids. We were serious about it at the time. Sometime after actually getting married and buying a house we changed our minds and decided we wanted just one. Now, 7 months after having Kaylee? We want 3. Preferably sooner rather than later. It's funny how things change ;)

A Parade, Ear Piercings, and Meeting Santa :)

Last week was a very long week at work, plus pretty stressful with all of Kaylee's doctors appointments, so I was really looking forward to spending the weekend just relaxingand starting to celebrate the holidays.

Saturday morning while Vince was working Kaylee and I did a little Christmas shopping. Then that afternoon when he was done there was a Christmas parade right down the street from our house so we bundled Kaylee up and walked down to watch it with Vince's family.

She didn't seem overly excited about it, but she watched the whole thing and smiled at anyone that stopped to say hello.

Afterwards we ran a few errands, came home put Kaylee to bed and then curled up on the couch with a bottle of wine and watched a movie. (we watched The Help.. I'm sure most of you have seen it by now, but if not it's SO good so make sure you check it out!)

We continued with the Christmas fun on Sunday morning when we took Kaylee to see Santa. We got there early so we wouldn't have to wait too long and thankfully the Miss Kay kept herself entertained with smiling at everyone else in line (she definitely has her daddy's outgoing personality and will talk to anyone haha). Vince put her on Santa's lap, she looked up and starred at him for a few seconds, then turned smiled and that was that.

I have to say the picture turned out pretty cute :)

We had all intentions of heading home right after her picture and putting her down for her nap, but as we were walking out I saw a sign for ear piercings. I have been debating doing it for awhile now and decided if I was going to I might as well do it now.

I was definitely nervous. I knew it would make her cry, but I also knew it would look so cute. So she sat on my lap and in less than 30 seconds they were done. She cried and practically jumped out of my arms into Vince's as soon as they finished. But I had her bottle ready and fed her as soon as I stood up and within a minute she was fine again.

(this was right after they were done... she obviously wasn't too happy, but not screaming either)

They don't seem to bother her at all and she hasn't pulled on them once. I honestly don't even think she knows they are there (which is probably for the best). So now my little lady has earrings like a big girl :)

Meeting Santa and getting her ears pierced was a pretty big day for a little girl. So the rest of the day we just lounged around the house, wrapped presents, watched football and finished the night with Vince's family coming to our house for Sunday family dinner.

I love laid back family weekends like this. There really isn't anything better.

A little bit of everything

Saying I am tired today would be an understatement. The Little Miss decided 4am was a good time to get up to play today. That was a first. We have had early mornings before, but never this early. Plus I had stayed up till almost 12 talking with mom, and let me tell you I do not function well off of only 4 hours of sleep.

I am crossing my fingers today is busy at work so I don't have time to just sit, otherwise I might pass out at my desk.

On a more positive note, I had a really good weekend. Friday I got done work a little early and Vince watched Kaylee so my mom and I could go out shopping. Saturday Vince and I had a wedding in the city, which was GORGEOUS and a lot of fun. It was kind of like a mini high school reunion, so it was nice getting to catch up with everyone. Unfortunately Saturday I woke up not feeling so great and by the end of the wedding I was pretty sick, so I didn't get to enjoy it quite as much as I would have liked, but we still had a really good time.

Sunday I still wasn't feeling good, but a little better. So my mom, mother-in-law, Kaylee and I went to a big craft show in Harrisburg, then on the way back we stopped and did some shopping at the outlets. Then last night Vince and I celebrated Christmas early with my mom since we won't be seeing my family then. We saved some of the gifts from my parents to actually open on Christmas, but it's always nice getting to see people open the gifts you get them. (Vince got a Bose system and was like a little kid playing with a new toy the rest of the night haha

It's amazing to me how the moment I get sick everyone starts asking if I am pregnant. I swear I could have a cold and that is the first thing people start wondering about. I understood this more before I had Kaylee, because people knew we were trying. But, now I don't get it. I mean I have 6 month old, do people really think I would be pregnant already? And of course I know that it's always a possibility and I would be ok if it happened, but seriously I swear I'm not pregnant and I'm not trying to be

When I first started at my job I was the youngest one. I was 24 and the person closest to me was 37. Over the past few years we have gotten 3 other girls all in their 20's. I never minded before about not having people my age at work, but now that I do I love it. I like having them to hangout with at work and after sometimes too. It really does make getting up and coming to work so much easier.

I am taking an early lunch today so I can drop my mom off for her flight home. She hasn't even technically left yet and I am still sad about it. I haven't seen my sister since August (now that she is in college it's harder to schedule things together) and I have only seen my dad one day since then. This summer will be 4 years since they moved and I swear it hasn't gotten any easier. I miss them a ton, but I am grateful that my mom is so great about coming to visit us whenever she can. My family has a place in Vermont so I think we are going to all try to meet up there in January to go skiing. I am already counting the days.

*****

I need to find a new series to watch. Over the past couple of years I have watched 24, LOST, One Tree Hill, and Friday Night Lights. All from start to finish. (well OTH is actually still on, but I watched the 1st 6 seasons last year and just caught up with it in season 7) I love getting them and watching them all at once like that. I don't know why, but I do. So, anyways does anyone have any good suggestions on what my next show should be??

It still amazes me every single day how much Kaylee has changed my life. In a good way. I seriously feel like a different person. I love her more than words can describe and literally just seeing her smile can make my whole day. On Wednesday we have some important doctors appointments at DuPont Children's Hospital. I haven't talked about it all, because I am hoping it turns out to not be a big deal and it's nothing that needs to be addressed online right now. But if you could please keep her in your prayers for me I would greatly apprecaite it.

December, Already?!

Thanksgiving is over and today starts the last month of the year. Which means? Work is CRAZY. I hate end of the year time (just at work, I love it at home because it means Christmas time!). So I apologize in advance for my lack of posts, but with work and just the normal holiday business I have a feeling I won't get to blog too much.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your friends and families. We had a good very low key and relaxing holiday with Vince's family. Even though I missed my family a lot it was kind of nice to just stay home and not travel this year. (plus my mom is actually flying here today and staying till Monday so knowing I would see her soon helped!)

******

I saw this little questionnaire over at Katie's blog a few weeks ago and decided to copy :)

Guilty pleasure?
All of the Kardashian shows... KUWTK, KKTNY, Khloe and Lamar, etc. I watch every episode and love it.

Recent splurge?
Honestly? I can't think of much. I bought a dress for a wedding this weekend that was a little more than I normally would spend on myself... but other than that I have been pretty good lately. (I have also actually stuck to the budget I set for Christmas gifts, which never happens! So, yay me!)
In bulk, I buy?
Only 4 things.. paper towels, toilet paper, diapers and wipes. We get large quantities at BJ's every few months rather than have to go buy them all of the time.

My go-to flower?
I'm not picky, I like them all. It's not unusual to find multiple vases of fresh flowers around my house on any given day.

Comfort food?
I actually don't really have a comfort food. Weird, I know. But I do love a cup of hot tea at night after a long day (or a glass of wine of course).

Now, if the question had been hangover food? The answer would have definitely been Chick-fil-a ;)

For breakfast?
I usually grab a water (again, weird I know... but I don't drink coffee or much juice either) and thing of yogurt to eat on my way to work.

For dinner?
Since Kaylee, we don't go out as often so I cook Monday through Friday. This is could be anything.. something in a crockpot, a casserole, pasta, I love anything mexican, and or course there's always chicken... whatever I feel like making really.

Saturday we either go out early for dinner or just order something in.

And Sunday we have family dinner at Vince's house which is usually some kind of homemade Pasta (they are Italian after all lol)

Love/hate relationship with?
Work. Some days it's great and I can picture myself here for a long time, and some days I want to quit. I also love the extra money, but I hate missing Kaylee during the day. Work really is something I change my mind about every.single.day.

Can't stop watching?
Umm, where do I begin?

Ringer, Heart of Dixie, Gossip Girl, Secret Circle, Grey's are the 5 shows that are always filling my dvr.

Then there's all of my reality show addictions whenever they are on... dance moms, bachelor/bachelorette, Kardashians, project runway. Yes, I know I have a problem.

Dreaming about?
Lots of things. Christmas, vacations, babies (not anytime too soon, but eventually), etc.

Every girl should have?
A best friend. Don't know what I would do without mine :)

My style in five words?
I don't really have one set style. For work I dress up. At home I wear yoga pants/leggings constantly. And when I'm out I usually try to dress in something in between the two. I typically go for stylish, yet still comfortable. So yeah, not quite 5 words and no real "style" per say.

I love wearing?
Uggs, leggings, and scarfs are absolute must in the winter. I am too embarrassed to admit how many pairs of uggs I have, but I seriously live in them all winter long.

Dream job?
I honestly have no idea. I like what I do so maybe if I can figure out a way to continue this, but only work part time I would consider that my dream job. I am working on sorting all that out now.

Happy December :)

Love Those Chubby Cheeks

I can't believe Thanksgiving is THIS week! I am really excited. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. It's the perfect day to spend just relaxing, cathcing up with family, and enjoying good food. ( and having a short week at work is always a plus ;) )

I doubt I will post much this week, so hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I thought I would leave you with a few pictures I took of Kaylee this weekend. On Saturday my mother-in-law and I went shopping and while I was waiting for her to come over Kaylee was just sitting on floor all bundled up ready to go and for once I actually had my camera out and got a few cute shots :)

Even Ty likes to kiss those chubby cheeks of hers..

As you can see her eyes are starting to get dark. The have always been a dark blue color, but lately they have gotten darker and I believe they will be brown before too long..

My BF's Wedding Recap

This week has been really busy at work, plus the secretary is on vacation all week and that means the phones have been going crazyyyyy. I am so ready for Friday and a weekend of no real plans!

Speaking of the weekend, last weekend Vince and I both had such a wonderful time at my best friends wedding. She looked STUNNING and the whole day really was amazing. The ceremony was beautiful and then we were able to enjoy an extended cocktail hour (for like 2+ hours, it was a blast). On the way to the reception I started freaking out a little bit about my speech, but it ended up going really well (or at least I think so haha). The rest of the evening was spent dancing and celebrating with the bride and groom. So much fun. I want to do it all again ;)

(This is a picture on my iphone, I will try to upload a few of the ones I took on my camera later on)

They are on their honeymoon right now and even though I hope they are having a fabulous time, I want them to come home soon! The bride and I talk almost every single day and it's killing me not to be able to call her!

Hope you all are having a good week. I will try to post more soon! Happy Hump Day :)
