Thankful Thursday

First off I am so very thankful that today is Thursday and the weekend is literally just around the corner. I don't know why, but this week has seemed never ending..

I am thankful that we have had a couple more showings for our house over the past couple of days. Obviously I would love it if it would sell, but at least we are getting some good feedback!

I am thankful for Midnight in Moscow by OPI that I am wearing right now ;o)

I am thankful for all of the wonderful forms of technology that help me stay connected with my family even though they are far away. (for example: getting picture messages of my sister trying on her prom dress so that I can still give my input even when I'm not there! haha)

I am thankful that we are going to Bonefish for dinner this weekend for a friend's birthday because I am obsessed with their bang bang shrimp. mmm.. just thinking about it makes me hungry!

I am VERY thankful that it is finally ALMOST spring :o) There are still a few more weeks of winter, but for the first time in what feels like forever we have had a week with NO snow! YAY! lol

and last but not least.. I am thankful for Brandi at Life with Sweet Cheeks for passing on this award to me. She is a super sweet girl and I love reading her blog, so if you aren't following her already make sure to do so <3

10 years from now...

What better way to start off a Monday at work (when everyone else has off for President's day) than getting an award ;) Selma at Crazy Little World of Mine passed on this on to me, so make sure to check out her blog too!

So the rules for this award are that I have to post where I would like to be in 10 years and then pass it on to 10 other blog friends..

 

Instead of just passing it on to 10 of you I am passing it to all of you, because I want to hear everyone's answer to where they think they will be in 10 years! ;o)

 

So, where do I think I will be in 10 years? Hopefully still doing what I am doing now... being happily married, enjoying my job, still staying close with my family and best friends, and just living life. I mean maybe if you added in a couple kids, another dog for Ty to play with, and a larger house that wouldn't be so bad either ;)

So Excited :)

I am SO excited to be leaving in a couple of hours to go skiing with my family for the weekend! My mom, dad, sister, and her boyfriend Nick all flew in last night, so they are already skiing in Vermont as I speak type. They were here for Christmas, so it hasn't been too long since I have seen them, but I still can't wait! This will be the first time in over 2 years that the whole family will be at our place in Vermont together. Vince and I have gone plenty of times since then and my dad and Vince have gone, but we haven't all been able to go together.. so it will be a nice little weekend getaway.

Since it's Friday I figured I would participate in Lauren's "Fill in the blank Friday"

1. I am hoping my Valentine's day this year includes... an afternoon spent skiing with my family, and an evening with Vince and I , driving safely home to Ty <3

2. My biggest guilty pleasure is.. hmm i have a lot, but currently it would be Lauren Conrad's book "Sweet Little Lies"

3. I am most proud of... I guess just where I am right now in life.. i'm proud of being a wife, a homeowner, a mom to Ty ;) and finding a job I like and being pretty good at it.

4. If I could choose one outfit to live in it would be black leggings, knit uggs, a long comfy (but cute) sweater over top of a long tank, and maybe throw in some bangles and cute earrings ;) 

5. People are Crazy. (you know like the song.. "god is great, beer is good, and people are crazy" haha)

6. I would rather be skiing right now than sitting at my desk at work.

7. I love my husband more than anything <3

Snowed In :)

At 4pm yesterday the office manager let everyone know the office would be closed today due to the snow storm coming. I was SO excited! I haven't had a snow day since school and it makes me feel like a kid again haha. 

Vince found out he was off too, so he called one of his best friends Dave to come over last night to get snowed in with us. We rented a couple movies and drank a little wine (well they drank beer, I had wine) Then this morning I got up early to get some work done so that I can have the rest of the afternoon to just relax with the boys. 

I got this in an email yesterday and I thought it described our current situation pretty well haha...

I also just saw that Kelly at Keeping up with Kelly & Co passed on this sunshine award to me. Kelly's blog is super cute and always one of the first that I check in the mornings! So thanks Kelly for the award, it's nice to add a little sunshine to a cloudy snowy day :)

Things that make me happy :)

Vince and I were in Vermont skiing this weekend and I didn't take my laptop so I was just now catching up on everyone's posts from the weekend and I found that I got a new blog award:

I received this from Katie who is a friend from high school who pretty much got me interested in blogging because I enjoyed reading her blog so much! So a big thanks to katie... and to everyone else make sure you check out her blog :)

Now my job is to list 10 things that currently make me happy... so here they are (in no particular order):

1. The fact that Christmas is NEXT week! Can't believe how soon it is :)

2. Dunkin Donuts Chai Tea. I am not a coffee person, but I LOVE tea and Vince and I both have recently become obsessed with this!

3. Gas card for work. I love that I don't have to pay for gas anymore, it used to always frustrate me how expensive it is and now I couldn't even tell you how much it costs haha.

4. Trying new recipes. I really do get excited when I find a different recipe to try and it turns out good.. sometimes I even do a little dance around the kitchen ;-)

5. Our new family room furniture. Last week we bought a new sectional couch, 3 of the seats recline (love it) and it is SO comfortable. We also got a new coffee table that the top lifts up which is nice for when we eat in there (which of course we never do ;-)) 

 

6. Weekends. All of them. I pretty much live for the weekends.

7. My sister. I love how much closer we have become as she has gotten older. She is one of my best friends and one of the first people I call with good or bad news. (and on that note, I should say my whole family. I really couldn't ask for a better one)

8. My friends. I have some of the best friends possible. Some have been there since way back in elementry school and some I didn't meet until college, but I don't know what I would do without each and everyone of  them. They can all make me happy anytime<3

9. Reality TV. It makes me laugh and I get excited to relax in the evenings to watch it. For example last night the new season of the Kardashians came on and it made my night :) Plus I have been seeing commercials for a new season of the Bachelor which I am seriously obsessed with watching! haha

10. Coming home to Vince and Ty. As cheesy as it may sound it's true. No matter if I had a good day or a bad day, there is nothing else that makes me happier than just coming home and spending the evening with both of them curled up on the couch. I love it, and it makes me super happy <3

My First Award :)

My new friend Kelly (whose blog I love and read every day) at Keeping Up with Kelly & Co was so sweet and gave me my VERY FIRST BLOG AWARD! Work has been crazy the past few days and this just made my day yesterday!

So the rules for this are to list 10 interesting facts about myself, however since I am at work right now (and not supposed to be blogging.. oops!) I am going to make this a little quick and just write the first 10 random things that come to my mind about myself (it would probably take me awhile to think of anything all that interesting haha.. sorry! lol)

1. I am freak about holiday decorations. I LOVE them. I can't wait to cover my house inside and out in fun Christmas things :) actually... I already put up our artificial tree on Wednesday night (I know it's early, but I told you I am freak about this stuff) and can't wait to go buy a real one to put up too! lol

2. I love going out to dinner. No place in particular (even though mexican is my favorite type of food), but I just like getting to sit down and relax and have someone serve me food once in awhile rather than having to cook and clean up afterwards. I try to cook on week nights and just go out on weekends, but last night we went out a day early ;-)

3.  I used to want to be an orthodontist. I actually worked as an ortho tech in high school for about a year. I don't really know what made me  change my mind and decide I didn't want to do it, but I just knew it was not for me. (even though those pay checks would have been nice haha) But I am glad I didn't because I actually really like my job now and think it's a good fit for me.

4. I am in love with my Jeep. I like all Jeeps. I used to have a liberty and recently upgraded to the Grand Cherokee. Today it is getting an oil change so I am driving my husbands car and it made me realize I don't think I can ever go back to driving a small car, I need to be in an SUV.

5. I want a family. Not right now (even though my mother-in-law would love for it to be now), but someday in the near future. For now, I am happy with just being me, Vince, and Ty and we aren't planning to start trying for a while, but I do already know exactly what I want our nursery to look like ;-)

6. I am constantly changing my hair. I don't know why, I guess I get bored.. but I have always had the mentality that it's just hair and if I do something crazy to it and don't like it, it will always grow back. So, it has been red, brown, blonde, and plenty of shades in between. (my natural color is a dark blonde haha)

7. Blue and Brown are my two favorite colors to decorate with. My wedding was all silver, blue (it was called "ice blue" actually), white, and of course a little black bceause of the guys tuxes. The christmas tree I just decorated is all done up in  blue and silver, because my family room is brown and blue and I wanted it to match... you get the point haha

8. One of my favorite ways to spend a Friday evening is curled up on the couch with my husband (and our puppy curled on my lap), a glass of wine, and a good movie. (all of course after going out to dinner)

9. I am excited for it to be winter because that means we get to go on our weekend trips to Vermont to go SKIING :) even though I can't stand the C O L D, being able to ski makes it worth it!

10. and last but not least.. I am absolutely obsessed with my dog. He is spoiled rotten, but I love him to death... and really, what's not to love?
