Happy Birthday to My Hubby

I am not one to write sappy love letters online (nothing against them! I just prefer to write them in cards for him only), but I did want to at least wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my husband, my best friend, and the soon to be daddy to our little girl <3

(image from here)
I love you and I hope you have a great day.

On a completely random note.. today I smiled when I got to work and opened up my planner (yes and I still have a planner, I keep everything in my calendar on my phone too.. but something about having it written out I can't seem to give up lol) and saw at the top of the month for April I had written "Baby Month" back when I first got the planner at the beginning of the year. I can't believe it's already April and my little one will be here SO soon... crazy how fast these 9 months flew by!

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and has a good week!

It's the little things..

..that matter the most.

The past few weeks I have really been trying to be grateful for all of the little things in my life, especially all of the simple and sweet things my husband does for me...

He knows just how I like my hot tea and makes it for me at night when I'm cold.

He cleans off my car when it snows and washes it when it's dirty.

He lets me tuck my freezing cold toes under his warm legs when we go to sleep.

He watches the bachelor and project runway, and even picks favorites just to pretend to be interested because he knows I like it.

He doesn't complain if I come home after a long day and want to lay on the couch all night watching one tree hill episodes... (and went to buy me the next season when I finished the last disc, without me even having to ask)

He knows my favorite foods to get if I'm hungover on a Saturday morning.

Or like tonight when he remembered from a couple of weeks ago that I saw a commercial for yoga pants on sale at old navy and picked them up on his way home from work, just because he knew I wanted them.

It's not about big gifts and money, it's about finding something to be happy about on a day to day basis. No marriage is perfect, and it sure as heck is not always easy. There are always going to be ups and downs, good days and bad days.. but in the end it's about knowing what's important and learning to cherish all of the little things <3

9 y e a r s

Yesterday was 9 years since the hubby and I first started dating. (not sure you can really consider it dating when you're 15 and you have to have your parents drive you everywhere.. but you get the point) When we got married we said we would stop celebrating our dating anniversary and celebrate our wedding one instead.

So yesterday we woke up and still said the whole "happy anniversary.. can't believe it's been 9 years.. yada yada yada.." and that was that. Well about halfway through the day I was talking to Vince and he said he felt odd not doing anything for our anniversary since we have been celebrating Oct. 8th for years. So, we decided to go to out dinner, nothing fancy (no complaints from me, just meant I didn't have to cook!) and then after dinner we got home and vince opened a bottle of champagne and we toasted to the past 9 years and to the  many more to come <3

We wont do anything big to celebrate our dating anniversary anymore, but we will probably always go to dinner just because October 8th, 2000 will always be a special day to us <3

Sick Husband = Sleepy Wife

So Vince was up sick half the night, which means I too was up extremely late (last I looked at the clock it was almost 4am!). Even though I do feel bad he is sick, I couldn't help but be a little annoyed when my alarm went off at 6:30 this morning and he got to call out of work and go back to bed while I had to get up... ugh. So, needless to say it was one of those mornings where I pressed the snooze button multiple times and then had to go to work with wet hair because I was running so late.

Now I am blogging as a last ditch effort to keep myself from falling asleep on my keyboard...

Is it Friday yet??

Introducing my hubby <3

My Best Friend

Vince and I started dating when we were 15 (crazy, I Know) and he has been my best friend throughout these past 9 years. Last November we took the next big step in our relationship and made the commitment to become husband and wife. I can honestly say that I have really enjoyed the whole process of going from dating, to getting engaged, and now being married. Obviously we aren't prefect and there have been ups and downs along the way, but it has definitely been worth it.

I love who we have both become and I am so proud to now be able to call him my husband. We are just beginning the journey of building our lives together and I look forward to seeing what our future holds. <3
