ABC's

I saw this over on Kelly's blog and thought I would copy and join in ;)

A. Age: 25 (26 in June)

B. Bed size: Currently a queen, but we already have a new king bedroom set on layaway for as soon as we get into our new place and I can't wait.. Vince and I both definitely need our own space when we sleep lol

C. Chore you dislike: I'm going to have to agree with Kelly on this one and saying ironing dress shirts for Vince (so I no longer even try, he takes it all to the dry cleaner instead haha)

D. Dogs: I LOVE dogs. I have had a dog around since the day I was born and couldn't imagine a house without one. Currently our little Maltese Ty is our one and only (and we love him like crazy, he is like our child), but we would like a golden retriever at some point too.

E. Essential start to your day: I lay in bed playing with my phone while Vince showers every morning.. I need that extra 20 minutes to really wake-up before I start getting ready.

F. Favorite color: hmm.. I normally say blue, but with all of the pink baby stuff around lately I think I may be leaning more towards that ;)

G. Gold or silver: Silver

H. Height: 5'6"

I. Instruments you play(ed): In elementary school I played violin for like 3 months. Instruments just weren't my thing and I was horrible... but I would love to be able to play the piano.

J. Job title: Event planning and Account Receivables. Odd combo I know, but it's what I do. I started as a marketing rep and event planner for the company, but when they needed someone to help in accounting recently I switched into that and stopped the marketing part. I actually really like it.

K. Kids: One on the way :)

L. Live: Currently in Exton, PA (about 30 mins outside Philly)

M. Mom’s name: Debra

N. Nicknames: let's see.. mom calls me Ladybug, Vince calls me Jennifer or BG, and friends from college call me JT

O. Overnight hospital stays: One in high school.. and once this baby decides to come I guess I will get another overnight hospital stay ;)

P. Pet peeves: food smacking and chomping on gum. Ugh seriously makes me so annoyed, I can't stand it.

Q. Quote from a movie: hmm.. this is a hard one... I like a lot of movie quotes, but the first thing that comes to my mind are all of the good sappy love quotes from the notebook like..

"They didn't agree on much, in fact they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time, and they challenged each other every day, but despite their differences they had one important thing in common, they were crazy about each other"

ooh I love really do love that movie.

S. Siblings: I have a sister Samantha, who is 8 years younger than me, and is one of my absolute favorite people and best friend ever.. love her to piece ;)

(picture from her prom last April.. I have newer photos but this is all I had on my phone haha)

I also have another half sister Brittnee (18) and step brother Sean (26), who I unfortunately don't get to see very often.

T. Time you wake up: 7am during the week and we are usually up around 8 on the weekends.

U. Underwear: yes I wear them..

V. Vegetables you don’t like: Brussel sprouts are really one of the only vegetables I can think of that I don't eat.

W. What makes you run late: hopefully nothing, I absolutely hate being late anywhere.

X. X-rays you’ve had: way too many to list

Y. Yummy food you make: hmm.. I like to cook full meals, but I would say my favorite things to make (and probably some of the best things I make) are appetizers. I love having people over and just doing a bunch of different appetizers.

Z. Zoo animal favorites: Pandas. Not sure why, but they have always been my favorite animal to see at the zoo.

Well that's all for now! Hope you are having a good week.. Happy Hump Day! :)

All About Me :)

My good friend Angela  posted this earlier today and I thought it was cute so I copied it :) Thanks Ang!

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family? - if you have ever read my blog you already know the answer to this.. yes of course we consider Ty as a member of our family.. he is our first kid.

2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be? to become a mom... and I'm pretty sure that dream is becoming a reality sometime very soon ;)

3. What would you do with a million dollars? to be honest I have thought about this a hundred times before and all I think I would really do with it would be pay off our mortgage and then save the rest... boring? maybe. But it would be so nice to have your house 100% paid for and still have a good savings put away.

4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood? friends, family, vince.. and maybe a glass of red wine (when I'm not pregnant of course)

5. What is your bedtime routine? Well during the week Vince doesn't get home until around 10, so I eat dinner then with him (I know it's late, but I like sitting down and having dinner with him every night and if thats the only time we can do it then that's fine with me) and then we curl up with Ty and watch the 11 o'clock news (unless we have something good in the dvr) before going to sleep.

6. What activities did you do in high school? I was a cheerleader, I danced from the time I was 6 years old until 17 (I quit right before senior year because I was on two 2 cheerleading teams and couldn't fit everything in), I was on the ski team (really that was just because Vince was on it too) and I was a member of NHS.

7. What kind of books do you read? Anything really. I don't like to just pick out a random book, I prefer to ask friends/family/etc for suggestions so I know if it's good or not... but some of my favorite authors are James Patterson (I think I have read almost all of his books), Nora Roberts, and Nicholas Sparks.

8. How do you see yourself in 10 years? hmm... lets see.. I will still be married, raising a 10 year old daughter ( and maybe another kid too ;) ), and hopefully just being happy and enjoying life with my family like I am.

9. What's your fear? ugh spiders. I seriously can't stand them... just thinking about them right now gives me the chills.

10. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space? Um.. is it lame if I say no. Not that outer space isn't fascinating (because really it is), but I just don't know if I really care to leave earth anytime soon to see it... I'm perfectly content just seeing it on tv or in movies haha.

11. What's the first thing you do when you wake up? brush my teeth. I hate morning breath, ugh.

12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be? I would make it so he never snored again.. ha, kidding.. kind of. But other than that nothing.. I love him for who he is, so why change anything?

13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be? I think I will stick with Jenna Nicole... not that I am in love with my name, but it's my name and it's never bothered me so there's no point messing with it.

14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose? Sun. Would anyone really choose to have 6 months of straight rain??

15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be? Anything Mexican. Mmm.. I could eat it every single day and be perfectly happy.

16. What is the thing you enjoy the most about blogging? I just enjoy being able to write whatever I feel like and sort of keep a journal of what's going on in my life these days.

17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods? Definitely salty. I've never been a huge sweets person.

18. What items are in your purse right now? ha.. what isn't in my purse right now? Let's see there is my wallet, my planner, 2 cell phones (BB for work, Iphone for personal), work keys, car/house keys, an apple, lots of chapstick and lipglosses floating around in there, business cards, sunglasses, checkbook, hand sanitizer, bronzer (because I am as pale as a ghost), and my flip video camera. I think that's about it ;)

19. Name 3 things on your bucket list. The #1 thing I know for sure I want to do at some point is move. Not that I don't like PA, but I would LOVE to live in North Carolina.. and thankfully Vince says the same thing, so we talk about in the future possibly moving there, but not right now. Other than that I would like to drive coast to coast and really take the time to see the United States. (I would love to travel Europe too, but there is a lot I haven't seen right here in the US too), and the 3rd I'm not really sure.. Vince really wants to go skydiving, so maybe I would try that with him.

20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn't? What don't I watch really? I guess the only thing I watch that I sometimes feel like I shouldn't is Teen Mom... I don't like that teens are getting famous for getting pregnant it's not something that should be glamorized, but OMG the show is addicting!

Bloggers Block

So I have had a little case of writers blogger's block lately.

One reason being that I have been really busy the past couple of weeks with work and when I get home (I usually type up my posts the night before) I would rather just relax (or nap.. what can I say, pregnancy has turned me into an 80 yr old grandma) than think about something interesting to write about.

The second and main reason is that I feel like everything I want to post about revolves around either pregnancy or babies. I mean I could put up a post every single day (probably twice a day, seriously) about something related to that, but I'm sure you guys don't want to read about it ALL of the time and to be honest I didn't want this to become a baby blog 100% of the time. BUT since this blog is about me and my life, and right now my life is centered around being pregnant it makes it a little hard to avoid talking about it a lot.

So ANYWAYS... that is the reason for my current lack of writing... and since I like blogging and I can't think of much else other than babies these days, guess you are just going to have to read some more about it ;)

BUT I will promise to try to put in some posts about other topics too.. and to prove that I thought I would start with a post about my current obsessions (only non baby related ones of course! haha)

My Current Obessessions:

1. Starbucks Passion Iced Tea. Mmmm it is SO good. I'm not big on sweet tea so I always ask for mine unsweet (they just don't put the syrup in), but I'm sure it's just as good either way.

2. LIGHTS OUT. If you haven't seen this new show on FX and are looking for something that both you and your guy will like, then I totally recommend this! Vince and I both watch it every single week and talk about how good of a show it is. Basically it's just about a boxer who lost everything and is trying to make a comeback so he can provide for his family. It may not sound that great, but trust me it really is! (if you can find it on demand then I would try to go back and watch from the beginning)

3. Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara. I ran out of the Bare Minerals Mascara that I usually use and while I was at Target last week I saw this on clearance and just grabbed it to use until I got a chance to go get the other one. Well, after using this the past week I LOVE it. It's cheaper (like seriously it was only about $5!), it works better, and I can get it anywhere instead of having to go to certain stores.

4. SPRING. I (probably like everyone else) am obsessing over the weather. I just CANNOT wait until it feels like Sring everyday! Tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and around 70 degrees, and just thinking about it puts me in such a good mood. If I could I would choose to live somewhere that you get that kind of weather all year long ;)

5. and last but most importantly My Little Man <3. Ty is by far my #1 obsession of all time. With Vince working nights I would get so lonely if he wasn't there, plus I get lots of quality time snuggling with him ;)

(Please excuse his messy hair.. he has an appointment at the groomers this weekend and he needs it done bad!)

I'll be back tomorrow with a bump update post (yep, back to talking about the baby already lol!)

OH and Hope you all are having a great St. Patty's Day!! Make sure to drink some green beer for me :)

my current obsessions

Lately I have become slightly obsessed with a number of different products and I thought I would share them with you all :)

NARS lip gloss. (specifically in Turkish Delight) I love this stuff.. I actually ran out a couple months ago and then recently bought a new one and realized how much I had missed it ;)
Hand sanitizer. Lately I have become somewhat of a freak about germs and keep hand sanitizer with me at ALL times. I have many of these little ones from bath and body works all over the place (my purse, my car, my nightstand, etc).
Michael Kors watches. I really like his large watches.. this past weekend I picked up this watch.. I don't typically wear gold, but I saw this in a magazine and was obsessed and have worn it every day so far this week. haha.
Cream eyeliner by Smashbox. AMAZING. It makes my eyeliner go on perfectly and stay that way throughout the whole day. (if you get it make sure to get the eyeliner brush to use with it!) I prefer it in the dark brown ;)
Lotion, lotion lotion! I have always been a lotion addict. I have a big box of nothing but various brands and types of lotions. Recently I picked up Aveeno's new "positively nourishing 24-hour ultra hydrating whipped souffle" (yes I know it has a long name.. lol). This stuff seriously leaves me skin satiny smooth. It is mixed with oatmeal, shae and cocoa butter and makes me feel and smell good :)
Nora Robert's Bridal Quartet. (yes I know this one is not a beauty product like the rest, but it's definitely a current obsession)I know I mentioned a little bit ago I was reading the first book in this series.. well after the first one I went on to read the 2nd and 3rd (both within 2 weeks of finishing the 2st) and am in love with these characters and their stories. The 4th book comes out in November and right now that seems like FOREVER from now.. if you haven't done so already make sure to read these!
And lastly, when I went to the hairdresser 2 weeks ago to have my hair dyed she suggested that I try the Shiny Big Hair shampoo.. and let me tell you, it really does leave my hair SO shiny and silky smooth. I would definitely recommend it for all hair types!
Ok, now I am off to watch project runway! Hope you all had a great Thursday :o)

Is it really only Wednesday??

Yes. It is only Wednesday, and it has already been a very long week. I am tired, grumpy, and wishing I was on vacation rather than working this week.. (and apparently I am whiny today as well).

You know what would make me feel SO much better?

a MASSAGE... ahhh just thinking about it makes me relax and smile a little.

I'm not going to be able to fit it in this week, but maybe sometime soon! BUT good news.. we are heading down to the beach for Friday and Saturday night, maybe relaxing with my toes in the sand and the sun in my face is just what I need to shake this crappy mood I am in this week ;)

Happy Wednesday everyone!
(only 2 more days until the nice long labor day weekend!)

My first tattoo :)

As I mentioned last week, my friend Amy was coming up this weekend to visit and we were getting tattoos together. It's something we have both talked about for awhile and really wanted to do together. Our other friend Ashley was supposed to go with us too, but found out last week she wouldn't be able to make it up this weekend... so I promised her I would still go with her soon to get hers too. (We actually had planned on all 3 of us getting them done when we all met up in DC last month, but we ended up deciding to wait until now)

So now you're probably wondering what exactly we got and why....

Well we all went to Virginia Tech together and the year of the shooting we were seniors.. and to say it was a life changing experience would be an understatement. It's something that was obviously horrible and devastating and simply impossible to put into words, but at the same time it was something we went through together and it brought all of us closer, not only as a school but even closer with the girls who were already my best friends.

It's something that really taught us just how precious life is and that since you never know what the future may hold you should always live each day to the fullest. We love Virginia Tech and we are proud to be Hokies, and we wanted something to represent that.

We each chose to get something different.. Amy got hokie foot prints (aka hokie tracks), Ashley is getting the roman numerial for 32, and I wanted "live for 32" (because 32 people lost their lives that day)

SO, without further ado here are the pictures:

getting started (please excuse the frizzy hair, it was a very rainy day! haha)

Amy was sitting right by me getting hers too (and our friend Kristen came along too!)

ALL DONE!

(mine is on the inside of my left heel)

Amy's Hokie tracks :)

We had a really good time and are both so glad we did it! If you are thinking about getting a tattoo I would definitely say go for it! :) I was shocked at how quickly it was done (like 10 min!) and the pain was really not that bad at all!

The rest of the weekend was a lot of fun too, and I will post more pics from that later... but right now I am exhausted and going to be early for once!

Hope you all had a great weekend :)

ABC's..

I am SO exhausted today, but at least Monday is over!

This weekend was a lot of fun.. Friday we went out with Vince's family and some of their friends and on Saturday we went out for our friends Jason's birthday.

The birthday boy and his wife Steph :)

There were 8 of us and we went to dinner first and then out to a little tavern type bar around here..  it was a really good time :)

Then on Sunday we got some good news about our house! We actually found out Thursday last week that there was a buyer who may be interested and they emailed us with some questions. So we emailed them back the answers and were just kind of waiting to hear from them. Then on Sunday morning I checked my email and their realtor sent us a message letting me know that they got preapproved and that now they just want to walk through one more time and we should be getting an official written offer by the end of this week!!

We are both very excited and shocked that we might be getting an offer after only being on the market for a couple of weeks...  but we're also trying not to think about it too much so if something happens and it doesn't work out we wont be too disappointed. (we did go look at a couple of house yesterday afternooon though haha)

So until we get something in writing we will be keeping our fingers crossed.. I will keep you updated!!

I have a fever..

..spring fever that is.

Yes, I know it's still February and way too early to be thinking about spring, but as I sit at my office watching it snow (again.. ugh), I can't help but dream about SPRING...

the warmer weather

flip flops and tank tops

the start of baseball season
(I love going to games.. watching them on tv is another story..)

BBQs

weddings (and we have a LOT this year!)

driving with the windows down

and of course.. SPRING CLOTHES :o)

Oooh I just love all of the flowy dresses, cute shorts, cropped jackets and light colors (I'm over wearing black dress pants to work)! Plus, I can't wait to not have to bundle up every morning to go to work!

Once it gets to be spring I practically live in sundresses. I. Love. Them. I think they are by far the most comfortable (and yet still cute!) thing to wear!

Oh well. Guess I still have to wait a couple more months.. but maybe I can start spring shopping a little early ;-)

Fill in the blank..

It's FRIDAY! YAY :o)

I don't really have time to write much today, but I wanted to fill in Lauren's Friday fill in the blank post real quick!

1. If I could medal in an olympic event it would be the skiing half pipe.. not that it woud ever happen, but I can dream ;)

2. If I was stranded on a deserted island I'd take Vince and Ty. That's really all I would need... well, OK maybe I would bring a toothbrush and some chapstick too (can't live without chapstick!)

3. Cats are my most irrational fear. Some cats are ok (I have had a few growing up), but the majority just really creep me out. (sorry to any cat lovers out there!)

4. I'd rather vaccum the stairs (my absolute least favoirte chore, especially in a townhouse with lots of stairseveryday, than have to go to the grocery store everyday. (some of the people in there drive me crazy!)

5. I am really hoping that our house sells! It just got listed on Wednesday, and there are people coming to look at it this weekend so I am looking forward to getting some feedback from buyers!

6. I should really be taking a nap before heading to DC, because I am exhausted from yeseterday... but I am way too excited to waste time sleeping! haha (seriously, I am like a kid on Christmas today lol)

7. One of my favorite things in all the world is getting into a bed with sheets that are just out of the dryer, especially after a long day!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Another day off work! Well, for everyone but ME..

When I woke up this morning I checked my blackberry (aka: my life line) and kept my fingers crossed that I would have an email from work saying we were closed again today (especially since vince got a call from his work last night saying they were closed again)... but unfortunately, no such luck. There were no emails saying anything about the office being closed. I was a little disappointed to say the least..

Since all the roads around our house were still completely covered in snow I decided to wait a little bit before going in to work (one of the best parts of my job is that I don't have set hours I can kind of make my own schedule, as long as the work gets done no one cares what hours you technically work). Vince offered to drive me because he knows how much I hate driving in the snow (and because he wanted to have my car for the day since his isn't 4WD) and we left the house around 9am. When we pulled up to the office parking lot I noticed there were only 2 other cars parked when normally the lot is packed (especially since most people are at the office by 8am), but the lights were on and the doors were unlocked so I figured everyone was just running late like me and so I thanked the hubby for dropping me off and I went inside.

About 2 minutes after I got into my office and turned on the computer, one of the guys from the warehouse came up and asked what I was doing at work..

"ummm... it's not snowing anymore and I didn't get an email about work being closed so I assumed we were open?"

Yea.. well after he finished laughing at me for coming in the day after our area gets "the most snow in history" he said, "we need to make sure you get added to our call list, I guess they decided not to send an email and just call everyone today and you must not be on the list yet".  Oh, well yea that would nice. So glad I just made my husband wake up on his day off to drive me to work, when I didn't need to be here... AND now I am here with NO car to leave in.

So, I figured since I was already here I would go ahead and get a little work done and then call Vince to come pick me back up in a couple of hours. Yea.. well that was the plan at least, but that was 5 hours ago and yet I am still here. Why you ask.. because shortly after I decided to stay my boss stopped by the office too and when he saw I was here he was like "oh great, now we can take the phones off the answering service and stay open for the day" (yea "great" wouldn't have been my first choice of a word, but ok..) "you don't mind helping with the phones since all the secretaries are out do you" No, of course not. I would love to stay here and answer the phones while everyone else stays home and enjoys the snow day.

So yea, that is how I ended up working when technically my office is closed for the day. But hey, at least it makes me look like a star employee to my boss, right? (I have to get bonus points for this! haha) And since hardly anyone else is even here, it's not like it's a very busy day.. so I guess I really shouldn't complain. (Except for the fact that I would much rather be curled up on the couch with Vice and Ty watching movies all day)

Well at least it's Thursday, which means tomorrow is FRIDAY! Plus Vince is taking me to PF Changs for dinner tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day a little early (since we will be away), so I have that to look forward to too!

Hope all of you that ARE home right now are enjoying your snow day :o)  and to those of you who are at work like me.. only one more day till the weekend! haha

Sunday Funday

It's Sunday and I'm really sleepy. (Guess playing games with friends until 3am will do that haha) Vince and Ty are actually passed out on the couch next to me right now, but I know if I fall asleep now I wont want to get up to go to Sunday family dinner.... sooo I am blogging instead to help keep me awake haha.

And I just saw that today Keely is donating 25 cents to the Red Cross for Haiti relief for every person who joins in the Sunday Funday and answers the questions below! So, make sure to head on over to her blog and play along!

So here are today's questions...

1. Hair color..Au naturale..or not?
um, I don't even know what my natural hair color is anymore haha. kidding. My natural hair color is a dark  blonde, but it's very blah so I get it highlighted every few months.  (and sometimes I like to try something new and will play around with colors, but typically I just get blonde highlights haha)

2. If somebody has food in their teeth or lipstick on their teeth do you tell them?
I usually do, but I can't honestly say that I always do.

3. Would you rather have a million dollars or your vision of the perfect body?
That's an easy one.. a million dollars. I don't have a perfect body, but I don't hate it so much that I would pass up a million dollars.

4. Favorite magazine?
Well I used to really like Domino (a home decorating magazine), but they went out of business... so the only other magazine I read regularly is People ;)

5. Bra style..lacey or plain?
well I think lacy bras are pretty, but not comfortable so I go more for plain I guess.... BUT I don't like boring white bras.  I like either black or bright colored bras.  (I think a white one makes me look even more pale than I already am, especially in the winter lol)

6. If you walked into Victoria's Secret..would you most likely come out with something sexy or comfy?

Sexy. I usually just like to shop there for special occassions, and sometimes just getting cute new underwear for a night out with the hubby can make me feel sexy ;)

7. Do you fake and bake?
I used to, especially in college... but about a year ago I decided it was time to give it up. (I don't want to start getting wrinkles at 24!) I still might go every now and then if I am in friends weddings or something like that, but for the most part I am done tanning.

8. What's your favorite body part on a man?
Arms. I like a guy with nice toned arms, skinny little arms don't make you feel safe when they are holding you the way muscular arms do. BUT just to clarify, I don't like it when their arms are overly huge and muscular, that's just a bit too much. haha

My Newest Obsession..

One Tree Hill.

It has always been one of those shows that I will watch here and there if nothing else is on, but never something I watch consistently. Until recently that is. I started watching it more frequently on SOAPnet lately (one of my favorite channels by the way) and got completely hooked.

So, I decided rather than watch the reruns on TV, I would go buy the seasons on DVD so that I can actually see it all from the beginning. It was a fabulous idea. I get excited to watch a couple episodes after work while I make dinner and relax. It has since moved up from a show I kind of like, but have no idea whats going on to a show that I love and can't wait to watch.

If you aren't already a fan, I definitely recommend you watch a couple episodes.. but I must warn you it's easy to become addicted ;-)

my new toy

Like I mentioned in my last post my husband was so sweet and got me a fabulous gift for Christmas, a Nikon digital SLR camera. I have had multiple digital cameras, but am never very happy with them so I have been looking at upgrading to an SLR for awhile and was so excited when I opened my gift Christmas morning. (he even got me an extra lens and a bag for it)

Since we were really busy over the holiday with family I didn't get a chance to play with my new camera at all. So, I am just now sitting here reading the guide, learning about all of the settings, and taking pictures of random things around my house haha.

Right now I am still using the original lens, I haven't even taken the other one of the box yet.... figured I should learn how to work this one first haha. So far I really love the camera, it's so much better than my other one. (which will still be nice to have when I got out and don't want to lug around a huge camera lol)

So if you don't have a digital SLR camera, then I highly recommend getting one.. I have had it less than a week and I am already obsessed. And if you do alreardy have a camera like this, then any advice/suggestions you can give me on how to take the best pictures would be greatly appreciated ;-)

My Many Imperfections

So I am following Katie's lead and making a list of my imperfections (this is not all of them by any means lol)..

I eat like crap as much as I try not to... I always say I am going to cut back on the junk food, but it never lasts more than a week and I am back to eating whatever I want whenever I want.

I have a really good job that I actually like and I can even make my own schedule, yet I still always want to go back to school and start all over, even though I have no idea what I would really want to go back for.

I hate giving my dog a bath... hate it... so instead I take him to the groomers about every 3 weeks and waste money on something i could seriously do myself.

I despise cleaning floors.. i think yesterday was the first time in MONTHS since i have done my floors... THANKFULLY my husband doesn't mind it and he does all of the floors in our house every week without complaining.

I have actually gotten decent at cooking and sometimes I even like doing it. but I still come home from work and get lazy and order dinner WAY more often than I should.

I had to stop taking birth control because it was causing me to have high blood pressure (which is absurd at 24).. and since I stopped my skin has been RIDICULOUS.. I hate it, it's embarrassing and no matter what I try it doesn't get any better.. I feel like I am 15 all over again..

I like tanning. I know it's bad for you and I honestly have not been in months because of that, but I know I will start going again, because I really do feel better about the way I look when I am tan.

I went to the Dr Friday and was told I need to go to physical therapy for 4-6 weeks because of some problems I am having with my foot and I was secretly happy to have an excuse to not have to work out... pathetic because I just started an exercise class that I actually enjoy going to...

I am organized to a fault. My closet is separated by season and THEN each season is in order based on color... our DVDs are all in alphabetical order... my shoes are in order of heal size... seriously the list could go on and on

I am obsessed with celebrity gossip... it really is a problem. I have about 4 different gossip sites i check multiple times a day. It drives Vince crazy.

I have a tooth that is killing me. I know I have a cavity, but I HATE the dentist and am trying to put off going as much as possible... I am like a little child when it comes to having to go the dentist.

And while this list could go on and on and on, I have to get up off the couch and get dressed for our HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE! Yay :) I will definitely post pics later. Happy Sunday! <3

My #1 Weakness..

Shoes.

"I don't know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot." -Marilyn Monroe

Hi, my name's Jenna and I am addicted to S H O E S. I love them... all kinds.. any color... I can't help it. I can't even tell you how many pairs of shoes I own that I have never worn because I don't have the right outfit to go with them. It's a problem, I know it. I am trying to cut back on buying them, but sometimes when I've had a bad day I like to shop and a new pair of shoes always seems to make me s m i l e. <3

r e l a x i n g

So like I said, it's been a long week... and as the week goes on I am starting to feel more and more like crap. (hoping it's just exhaustion and that i'm not actually getting sick) When I got home today vince knew I wasn't feel good so he offered to make dinner (what a nice guy) and told me to just relax. So, that's exactly what I am doing ALL night long.

I'm curled up on the couch with all my favorite things... my snuggie (you know the blanket with sleeves.. it's dorky, but I love it), my book, Ty sleeping beside me, and the best part: a cup of hot tea compliments of the hubby <3 (i have a slight obsession with tea) I don't plan on moving from this spot the rest of the night and hopefully by tomorrow I'll be feeling better :)

Not a City Girl...

I live about 45 minutes (without traffic) outside of philadelphia and until this week I had never drove into the city before. (not that I have never been there, we go quite a bit.. but I have always either been riding with vince or my family) So to be honest I was a little nervous about driving and dealing with all the crazy traffic, the intense drivers, the one-way streets, the parking...

Well, yesterday I had to be in center city at 10am to drop off stuff for an event, then that same night I had to go back to the city for a banquet at the University of Penn Museum (REALLY neat building!), and then this (friday) morning I had to be at the Union League (GORGEOUS!) for a breakfast seminar starting at 7am. First off, let me start by saying that the places I went were very nice and I had a good time at the events... BUT oh my goodness... the pain of driving there was enough to make me want to pull my hair out...

lets start with the first trip shall we... obviously knowing that driving at 10am would involve some of your typical morning traffic I made sure to leave my house with plenty of time to get there (or so I thought). So I left at exactly 8am and after 2 hours of sitting in traffic I got to the city at 10am.. and I thought perfect I'll just park real quick and run in and drop this stuff off... yea if only it were that easy. Instead I drove around in a circle (no joke) for 30min, always ending up in the wrong lane at the wrong time so I could never turn where I needed to turn, almost hitting a couple bikers riding between cars (not to mention the pedestrians walking out from every which direction) all before even finding the right building and then I had to park a few blocks away and pay $10.50 (and I was only in there for 10min TOPS!). ughh so I thought OK my first trip alone to philly wasn't perfect, but I did find the right place and managed to do what I needed to do.. so I'm sure tonights trip will be easier...

well my 2nd trip that day to the city I was able to find the place very easily (yay me!) but the traffic getting there was INSANE. It took me 3 HOURS to get there.. are you kidding!?! it wasn't even rush hour this time! And of course another $18 for parking.. fabulous. There was even traffic getting home at 11 at night! So, learning from my mistakes... I thought it would be best to make sure to give myself plenty of time to get there this morning for breakfast. I got up at 4am (ugh) and left my house at 5am.... and then got to the place and parked by 6:10am, which meant I had 50 min to kill before the thing even started. (and I couldnt just sit in my car, because at the parking lots in philly you get out and they park your car.. this time for $26) Since everything around me was still closed I walked a few blocks until I found a dunkin donuts and could at least get something to drink to kill the time. But really, how are you ever supposed to plan on being somewhere at the right time with traffic that is so hit or miss??

Well if nothing else.. after 3 trips, 2 good meals, and $54.50 in parking (thank goodness for expense reports).. I learned that the city is not my cup of tea. Even without all the ridiculous driving, just the traffic and craziness in general is not for me. I like my quiet little town where every once in awhile I see a horse and buggy, not taxi's flying around, everyone honking every second, people everywhere.. I know some people love it and to each their own, but I am definitely meant to live in the suburbs, where I can easily visit a city but not have to deal with it on a day to day basis :)
