Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that it is finally Thursday. This week has been non-stop and I am ready for it to be overrr. I have 3 meetings tomorrow for work between 7am and 2pm and then I am leaving for Florida for 10 days. THANK goodness!

I am thankful for my gps. I seriously don't know how I ever got around without it before.

I am thankful that Ty has started to get used to having other people around all of the time besides just me and Vince. The first week we were here every time someone walked into the house he barked.. and in the mornings when Vince's dad gets up for work (an hour before we normally get up) Ty would start going crazy. It was veryyyy annoying. In his defense he just wasn't used to being here and think it kind of freaked him out, but I am SO glad he is finally starting to act more like is quieter non-barking self.

I am thankful and very excited about purchasing our new house. Even though it will take time to build, it's nice to finally know where we are going to be living and being done with all of the house hunting. (because after awhile that started being such a pain)

I am thankful that the wearther turned out ok at the golf outing I was sponsoring today. It was HOT as heck, but I was just glad it didn't rain!

I am thankful that I decided to pack for our vacation last night because tonight I ended up having a lot of other random things to get done and wouldn't have had time to do it.

OK, I am going to bed before I pass out at the computer... but hope you all had a good day and if I don't get a chance to post tomorrow have a great weekend! :)

We bought a house!

If you remember from my previous post about a month ago I mentioned Vince and I were trying to decide on a new house... well tonight we FINALLY signed the paperwork and offically bought our first single home. We decided on King's Grant..

..and we couldn't wait to put up the sold sign ;)

and yes I did blur out the lot # because I don't think everyone needs to know exactly where we are living and I also didn't tell anyone on facebook where the house was when they asked..

I know it sounds weird, but when we were building our townhouse a couple of years ago there were a couple of times we would show up to see the progress and there would be random friends (not even close friends) who would be walking through the house to see it.

I don't know why, but that always bothered me haha. SO this time, even though people who read this (and really only my good friends even know my blog address) know which neighborhood we chose, we aren't saying which lot...  there are a bunch being built in there right now so hopefully we wont find people walking through our house this time ;)

So ANYWAYS back to our exciting news haha.. this is a sample of what our house will look like. It's not exact, we are choosing different colors and stuff like that.. but it gives you an idea!

Not Me Monday

I am not counting down the days in this crazy busy week until Vince and I leave for vacation for 10 DAYS! (I will be in Atlantic City Tuesday and Wednesday, Harrisburg on Thursday, then finally home Friday so I can catch our flight to Florida.. see I told you it was a busy week!)

I was not extremely glad to finally have time to meet with my boss today to go over a ton of things we have been working on lately (the meeting was over 3 hours.. we seriously had so much to discuss)

I have not been a horrible blogger for well over a month. I do not feel like such a slacker every time I look at my blog. I am not hoping that once we get back from vacation and through the crazy busy month of June that I can finally get a normal routine back.
I did not freak out and literally run upstairs like a little girl when I saw a spider in the basement this morning. I do not HATE spiders. (I get chills just thinking about it.. ughh)

I did not get nervous that it was going to rain yesterday and ruin the bridal shower that we planned for my brother-in-law's fiance. I was not so happy when the weather ended up ok and that the shower turned out really nice!

with the bride to be

we did setup the tables inside just in case it started to rain during the shower

Lauren and all of her bridesmaids :)

The happy couple <3

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all have a good week :o)

wishful wednesday and a little complaining..

this weeks topic:

'I wish' .... I could come home to THIS bedroom each and every night!

OH. MY. GOODNESS. I can only imagine what it would be like to have this as your bedroom. I would probably never want to leave my room haha. I love the blue with white curtains, the soft light, the ceiling, the  pool (obviously)... it all just looks SO peaceful. (and of course if you had that room you would have someone else hired to take care of cleaning the pool so you wouldn't ever have to worry about it.. lol)

This week is CRAZY busy. I mean reallyyyyy.. I feel like I don't have enough time to get everything done. I am so THANKFUL that our vacation is finally coming up! We leave next Friday... and I am literally counting the days. I have a TON of work to get done before then, but I am determined to work extra hard to finsh it all so that I won't have to worry about it while we are away.

Ooook.. enough complaining! I have to go grab dinner out of the over before it burns, but here are some pictures from the wedding and bachelorette party I went to over the weekend. Enjoy :o)

The beautiful bride and her dad <3

Fun night with friends and family

Then the next night was my future sister-in-laws bachelorette party :)

gotta love girls nights ;o)

Have a good rest of the week!

Getting to know you Sunday

1. The most expensive thing hanging in my closet is.....? a nicole miller dress that I bought for a wedding last year and of course only wore it once haha

2. Have you ever played a team sport? I played soccer when I was kid, and then I did high school and all-star cheerleading (and yes I count that as a sport)

3. If you were a bug, what kind would you be? a ladybug. (that has been my mom's nickname for me ever since I was little)

4. Where on your body is the worst place to get sunburned? my nose. Every single time my nose burns it peels SO bad and looks horrible

5. Are you happy? Yes I really am.

6. People are always abbreviating..are there any abbreviations that make your skin crawl when people use them? I don't know why but I can't stand when people write "luv u" instead of writing out love. Vince used to text me that and I eventually had to say something because it bothered me so much. Yes it's weird, I know. haha

7. Do you love where you live..or could you live anywhere? I actually am really happy with the area we live in and I LOVE having all of Vince's family so close to us... but if I could pick anywhere in the country to live it would be North Carolina.

8. What, if any, extreme measures do you go to to keep yourself from overeating when you're full? hmm.. nothing really, I am pretty good about stopping myself from eating when I am already full... but I also try not to keep too much junk food in the house so I never really have anything to snack on anyways.

It's that time of year..

It is officially wedding season.

Tonight at 5pm we have our first of FIVE weddings between now and September.

I LOVE weddings. It's always great to go and celebrate the love between two people you care about (not to mention it's always fun to go to a party where you can dress up, eat good food, and enjoy an open bar.. just saying.) and it's always such an honor when you are asked to actually be a part of the wedding party... but to be honest sometimes my favorite weddings are the ones I am not actually in (well minus my own obviously haha).

It's not that I don't love being a part of my friend's special day (because really I do), but sometimes it is nice when you can just go to a wedding. You don't have to worry about all of the planning for the engagement party/the shower/bachelorette party/wedding/etc. all you have to do is show up and have a good time. Which is exactly what we are doing tonight. (well actually Vince and I both went to the bachelor/bachelorette stuff too)

The couple getting married tonight are good friends of ours and I am really looking forward to it because so many of the guests are friends and family too which always makes the reception even more fun.

Next month we have Vince's brothers wedding which we are both in and obviously we are both looking forward to that one too since we have been involved with  a lot of the planning the past year. Then the remaining 3 weddings we are just guests.

So it looks like our summer will be filled with lots of fun celebrations and I can't wait to get it all started.

Then tomorrow night I am actually continuing with wedding season because it is the bachelorette party for my brother-in-laws fiance, Lauren. We are surprising her and going to Baltimore for the night.. we got hotel rooms, made dinner reservations, and requested a vip section at one of the bars.. so it's going to be a good time (now I just need to find something to wear...).

It's going to be a busy, but fun weekend. (I will definitely be exhausted on Sunday.. haha) Hope you all have a fun weekend planned too!

Happy Friday :o)

Wishful Wednesday

This weeks topic:

I wish...  I hadn't thrown away my chance to study abroad in college.

When I was a sophmore at Virginia Tech I thought about taking part in one of the study abroad programs over the summer. I would have finally had the chance to spend a good amount of time in Italy studying and touring. It wasn't a cheap trip and my dad even offered to pay for it... but there were a few reasons I decided not to go.. 1. I felt bad asking him to pay more on top of what he was already paying for college. 2. I didn't work during the school year instead I worked all summer long to save up money so I wasn't too broke all year long and if I went on the trip I wouldn't have had as much time to make the extra cash. And 3. I always looked forward to finally coming back home on summer breaks and getting to see my friends and family.

So I decided not to go and was happy about my decision at the time.. but now looking back I really wish I could take it back and go on the trip. It would definitely have been a once in lifetime type of trip and something I would have loved doing. So now whenever I have a cousin or friend in college who is thinking about going to study abroad I always try to talk them into it. I think it is something eveyone should do if they have the opportunity.

Alright.. enough playing around I have to get going for a networking event for work.... but happy Wednesday everybody! The week is more than halfway over! YAY! :o)

top 2 tuesday and a quick recap..

I love this weeks topic..

Top 2 Dream Houses.

As you know Vince and I have been out looking at houses a lot lately and even though we could never afford these houses, it's nice to d.r.e.a.m. These ones are both actually near by and since I get daily emails sent to me with all of the listings I look at both of these a lot haha.

1. This one has 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, about 10,000 square feet and costs over 4 million. So yea it's never going to happen haha..  But I LOVE this property, the inside is gorgeous and the views are beautiful.. doesn't it just look so peaceful..

2. This house has 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, and is about 1.75 million.. seems like such a bargin after the price of the first one. haha. I like this one because of the stone and all the detail on the outside. The inside is obviously nice too, but the outside is what made it stand out to me.

SO this past weekend we officially moved out of our house and into my in-laws (which is the main reason I have been MIA recently!). It was a very LONG process of cleaning and organizing everything and deciding what to put in storage and what to keep at Vince's parents house. I am very happy to say that we are DONE movig. Well, for now at least. As soon as we decide on another house we will have to move all over again. However, at least that time it will be into a our own place again and we will be more excited to move haha.

Even though, I can't lie I am kind of looking forward to living with the in-laws for a few months while we search for our new house.. it's nice having them around, we save TONS of money rather than having to rent, and there's always a good meal ready when I get home from work. No cooking.. now how could I complain about that? haha. Of course it will be an adjustment getting used to not living with just Vince for awhile, but it will definitely be worth it in the end. (at least that's what I keep telling myself... a couple of my co-workers are making bets on how long I last living with my in-laws before I leave and start renting instead haha)

Other than being busy with moving, I have also been very busy with work the past week. It's almost summer and that means it's golf season.. and for me that means LOTS of golf outings to plan and attend. Yesterday I was sponsoring an outing from 9am until 8pm. Sponsoring events is one of my favorite parts of my job, especially when I get to be outside all day like at golf outings.. however yesterday was FREEZING cold and SO windy. I was literally shaking all day and counting down until I could finally go inside and warm up. I am keeping my fingers crossed it's warmer at my next outing!

Hope you all are having a good week so far :)

PS- The wireless at my in-laws isn't working right now, but someone is coming out Friday to fix it, so as soon as I have that back on I will be able to use my laptop and post more frequently!

Top 2 Tuesdays and weekend recap

This weeks topic is:
Top 2 things you splurge on

1. Massages. I don't get them all the time or anything, but I do get them quite frequently. I just love them, there really isn't anything better when I am stressed out and just need time to relax and get pampered. I especially like the massages with hot stones... ahhh now I want to go get one ;)

2. Shoes. I have a slight shoe obsession and when I find the right pair I don't mind paying a lot for them. The problem is that I sometimes buy shoes that I don't have anything to wear with and even though I swear at the time I will find something perfect, I never do.. and therefore I end up with beautiful shoes just sitting in my closet and never being worn. haha.

 ******

I had a GREAT time visiting my family this weekend. I didn't want to come home on Sunday (even though I did miss Vince and Ty). It was a really nice relaxing weekend.

On Saturday we went out to eat, shopping, me/my mom/sister all got manicures and pedicures together, I helped get my sister ready for prom, and then my parents and I stayed up late talking and watching movies (and drinking too much wine haha)...

and didn't my sister look beautiful....

Then on Sunday I didn't fly out until late so I spent the afternoon shopping some more, walking through model homes with my mom to get decorating ideas for our next house, and then my dad bbq'd and we all spent the rest of the time before I left relaxing on the deck in the sun.

I already can't wait until my next trip there :o)

It's another busy week at work for me, but busy is a good thing so I really can't complain! Hope you all are having a good week so far <3
