Fill in the Blank and Funny Friday

Keeping Up With Kelly & Co

I saw this on Perez Hilton's website last night and it made me laugh so I thought I would post it to go along with Kelly's Funny Fridays :)

I thought this was funny because it is a real ad for PETA.

"Tiger Woods is going after PETA and their latest billboard ad campaign featuring the cheating golf pro and championing spaying and neutering your pets with the catchy tagline:

"Too much sex can be a bad thing.… for little tigers too. Help keep cats (and dogs) out of trouble: Always spay and neuter!"

Pretty clever but Tiger's legal team has already contacted PETA and they seem to be taking a step back saying, "In light of conversations we have had with Mr. Woods' attorneys, plans to run our billboard are on hold at this time." "

I also wanted to join in Lauren's Fill in the Blank Friday questions.. make sure to check out her blog and fill in the blanks too :)

1. When I'm nervous I get as red as tomato. Seriously. And if I am extremely nervous I even get red blotches on my chest.. it's not pretty.

2. My favorite item in my closet is my leggings and uggs. (at least in the winter... in the spring it would probably be my flip flops or a sundress)

3. Taking a bubble bath with scented candles and a good book is my favorite thing to do when I need to relax.

4. My favorite childhood memory is going to SeaWorld all of the time when we lived in Florida. My mom and I used to go there every Tuesday night when I was little to see their fireworks show. It was her way of making sure we had time for just us, even after she got remarried to my stepdad we still would go just for mommy/daughter time. (When my mom was in high school.. way before she had me.. she used to work there swimming with in their shows, so we always had free passes to use when I was a kid)

5. Something you may not know about me is that I am really shy. Once you know me I don't shut up, but when I first meet people I am extremely quiet and bashful.

6. A true friend is one of the most important things in life. It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10, just as long as you have someone that you can always turn to when you need them.

7. Something I hope people think of when they think of me is that I am honest and loyal.. and nice would be good too! ;)

Happy FRIDAY everyone! Hope you all have a great weekend planned!

I have a fever..

..spring fever that is.

Yes, I know it's still February and way too early to be thinking about spring, but as I sit at my office watching it snow (again.. ugh), I can't help but dream about SPRING...

the warmer weather

flip flops and tank tops

the start of baseball season
(I love going to games.. watching them on tv is another story..)

BBQs

weddings (and we have a LOT this year!)

driving with the windows down

and of course.. SPRING CLOTHES :o)

Oooh I just love all of the flowy dresses, cute shorts, cropped jackets and light colors (I'm over wearing black dress pants to work)! Plus, I can't wait to not have to bundle up every morning to go to work!

Once it gets to be spring I practically live in sundresses. I. Love. Them. I think they are by far the most comfortable (and yet still cute!) thing to wear!

Oh well. Guess I still have to wait a couple more months.. but maybe I can start spring shopping a little early ;-)

I gave in...

.. and had a Chick-fil-a milkshake.

For years now I have been hearing all about how good their milkshakes are, but have never given in and actually had one. (Hello.. have you heard how many calories are in one?!?!

My uncle who owns a Chick-fil-a sent Vince and I coupons for some free ones and after about 3 months of them sitting on top of my fridge, I finally went last night and got one (a chocolate one).

Oh. My. Goodness. They are SO good. (and this is coming from someone who doesn't even really like ice cream!)

Now the problem is convincing myself not to get another one... because seriously, 750 calories for one drink CAN'T be healthy! haha

******
and now because it's Wednesday (yay the week is more than halfway over!) I want to join in Wishful Wednesday at Kelsey's blog!

This weeks topic:

'I wish' .... I could play a character's role in a book and it would be Bella from The Twilight Series!

This really doesn't need too much of an explanation, because I mean who wouldn't want to have Edward and Jacob fighting over you ;) and I would really like to be Bella in the movies too..

ok, that's all for now... I'm off to curl up on the couch and watch American Idol with Vince.

Hope you guys have a good night!

Top 2 Tuesdays

Grab My Button

Today Taylor's Top Two Tuesday topic is..
Favorite TV Shows

(and on a cold rainy day like this, I really wish I could be curled up on the couch watching them right now..)

1. Beverly Hills 90210 (the original one!)

Anyone who knows me, knows this has always been my favorite show. I started watching this when I was 6 (thanks to my very responsible babysitter haha) and have been obsessed for years. I got so excited a couple years ago when they started releasing the seasons on dvd, I have been buying them all as they come out.  (i'm up to season 9, only 1 more to go! lol) I do watch the new version of 90210, but it's not nearly as good ;o)

2. FRIENDS (this was a very close second!)

I. Love. This. Show.
I own every single episode and I watch them constantly. I have it on so often that I wouldn't be surprised if even Vince knew the words to each episode... haha. It's a show that can always make me laugh no matter what kind of day I'm having.

Even though my top two choices are both no longer on TV (except for reruns obviously), I do have some favorite shows that are still on..

Gossip Girl
Brothers and Sisters
24 (i LOVE jack bauer)
The Kardashians
One Tree Hill

make sure to go over to Taylor's blog and let us know your favorite shows!

Not Me Monday

I am not absolutely exhausted today due to how much fun I had over the weekend..

I did not have a GREAT time in DC with some of my favorite hokies :)

We did not spend Friday night in catching up and drinking wine.. between 4 of us, we did not drink 7 bottles of wine.

We did not go out in Georgetown on Saturday night and stay up until way past my normal bed time.

We did not make plans to get together again next month and those plans do not involve tattoos....

Vince did not surprise me when I got home Sunday with a date night<3 It did not consist of seeing Dear John and having dinner at PF Chang's (so good!).

We did not come home and watch the season finale of The Kardashians. I do not secretly love that show.

I also do not love The Bachelor (even though I can't stand Vienna). I am not excited to watch the women tell all episode tonight!

I am not being a bad wife and ordering dinner tonight because I am simply too lazy to cook right now.. (and still slightly hungover)

I am not happy Monday is over so that it's one less day until the weekend comes around again ;o)

(Make sure to join in the Not Me Monday fun over at MckMama's blog!)

Fill in the blank..

It's FRIDAY! YAY :o)

I don't really have time to write much today, but I wanted to fill in Lauren's Friday fill in the blank post real quick!

1. If I could medal in an olympic event it would be the skiing half pipe.. not that it woud ever happen, but I can dream ;)

2. If I was stranded on a deserted island I'd take Vince and Ty. That's really all I would need... well, OK maybe I would bring a toothbrush and some chapstick too (can't live without chapstick!)

3. Cats are my most irrational fear. Some cats are ok (I have had a few growing up), but the majority just really creep me out. (sorry to any cat lovers out there!)

4. I'd rather vaccum the stairs (my absolute least favoirte chore, especially in a townhouse with lots of stairseveryday, than have to go to the grocery store everyday. (some of the people in there drive me crazy!)

5. I am really hoping that our house sells! It just got listed on Wednesday, and there are people coming to look at it this weekend so I am looking forward to getting some feedback from buyers!

6. I should really be taking a nap before heading to DC, because I am exhausted from yeseterday... but I am way too excited to waste time sleeping! haha (seriously, I am like a kid on Christmas today lol)

7. One of my favorite things in all the world is getting into a bed with sheets that are just out of the dryer, especially after a long day!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that The Borgata in Atlantic City has free wireless internet so that I can entertain myself with my laptop while waiting for the expo to start.

I am thankful for my gps, because without it I most certainly would have ended up getting lost coming here today.

I am NOT thankful that I forgot to bring another pair of shoes to change into after the show.. my feet are killing me already and it's only 10am, the show hasn't even started, and I still have another 12 hours until I will be home. Fabulous. (maybe I can convince my loving husband to give me a foot massage tonight?! haha.. doubtful..)
I am thankful that Vince and I got to catch up with friends on Tuesday night at dinner and then meet up with more friends for drinks and trivia later that night.

I am also thankful for iphones and blackberrys that helped us with a few of those trivia questions.. wait, no we would never cheat during trivia.. ;o)

I am so very thankful that tomorrow is Friday, because this has been a very long week.. and because that means tomorrow I FINALLY get to see 3 of my absolute favorite people. It has been WAY to long since we have all been together!

I am also thankful that they are calling for NO snow over the weekend, so that I don't have to worry about getting stuck in it while driving to and from D.C. (unfortunately I think they are still forecasting for snow on Monday though... this winter really is never ending..)

Happy Thursday everyone! :o)

Top Two Tuesday

Grab My Button

Today Taylor's Top Two Tuesday topic is..
Dream Vacations

(and with all this snow lately, it's nice to dream about going somewhere a little warmer..)

1. The Atlantis in the Bahamas. I don't know what it is about The Atlantis, but ever since I saw Nick and Jessica go there on Newlyweds I have always wanted to go. I have been to quite a few islands and Caribbean vacations, but if I could pick anywhere to go tomorrow this would definitely be it.
It just looks SO pretty :)

2. Tour Italy's Wineries. This was a pretty easy choice for me for two reasons.. 1. Vince and I would both LOVE to go to Italy and 2. I love wine tours. So, put the two together and it sounds like a perfect vacation to me! (We do talk about seriously planning a trip to Italy, but I would want to go for 2 weeks to really be able to spend some time there and right now with my work schedule that just isn't possible.. but hopefully someday soon!)

******
So, anyways hope everyone is having a good day so far! My week is SUPER busy with a luncheon today, seminar tomorrow, and expo in Atlantic City on Thursday (not to mention getting my normal day to day work done too)... but it's all events I like going to so at least it should be a fun week and before I know it Friday will be here again! Plus on Friday I am heading to DC for a long over due girls weekend with 3 of my best friends/sorority sisters from college... I seriously can't wait!

Alright I have to run before I am late, but hope you all have a good one! :o)

10 years from now...

What better way to start off a Monday at work (when everyone else has off for President's day) than getting an award ;) Selma at Crazy Little World of Mine passed on this on to me, so make sure to check out her blog too!

"This award means you're really going places, Baby. You'll still be blogging about your great adventures 10 years from now, and I'll still be reading them."

So the rules for this award are that I have to post where I would like to be in 10 years and then pass it on to 10 other blog friends..

Instead of just passing it on to 10 of you I am passing it to all of you, because I want to hear everyone's answer to where they think they will be in 10 years! ;o)

So, where do I think I will be in 10 years? Hopefully still doing what I am doing now... being happily married, enjoying my job, still staying close with my family and best friends, and just living life. I mean maybe if you added in a couple kids, another dog for Ty to play with, and a larger house that wouldn't be so bad either ;)

Happy Valentine's Day

"I've fallen in love many times... always with you."

Vince and I just got back from Vermont around 5 today (we had a great time with my family!) and went and got sushi for dinner and now we plan on spending the rest of the night watching a movie, sipping some wine, and relaxing with Ty. Sounds like a perfect night to me <3

Hope you all are having a great Valentine's Day!

So Excited :)

I am SO excited to be leaving in a couple of hours to go skiing with my family for the weekend! My mom, dad, sister, and her boyfriend Nick all flew in last night, so they are already skiing in Vermont as I speak type. They were here for Christmas, so it hasn't been too long since I have seen them, but I still can't wait! This will be the first time in over 2 years that the whole family will be at our place in Vermont together. Vince and I have gone plenty of times since then and my dad and Vince have gone, but we haven't all been able to go together.. so it will be a nice little weekend getaway.

******
Since it's Friday I figured I would participate in Lauren's "Fill in the blank Friday"

1. I am hoping my Valentine's day this year includes... an afternoon spent skiing with my family, and an evening with Vince and I , driving safely home to Ty <3

2. My biggest guilty pleasure is.. hmm i have a lot, but currently it would be Lauren Conrad's book "Sweet Little Lies"
3. I am most proud of... I guess just where I am right now in life.. i'm proud of being a wife, a homeowner, a mom to Ty ;) and finding a job I like and being pretty good at it.

4. If I could choose one outfit to live in it would be black leggings, knit uggs, a long comfy (but cute) sweater over top of a long tank, and maybe throw in some bangles and cute earrings ;)

5. People are Crazy. (you know like the song.. "god is great, beer is good, and people are crazy" haha)
6. I would rather be skiing right now than sitting at my desk at work.

7. I love my husband more than anything <3

******
I am also happy today because one of my best friends Angela gave me an award this morning.  So many thanks to Angela, and everyone make sure to check out her super cute blog :)

The rules of the award are:
1. Share six blogs that you think are over the top and exciting
2. let all of the ladies know they've won the award
3. Smile and pat yourself on the back for winning the award

So I would like to pass this award on to 6 ladies whose blogs I love to read and always find entertaining :)

Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Another day off work! Well, for everyone but ME..

When I woke up this morning I checked my blackberry (aka: my life line) and kept my fingers crossed that I would have an email from work saying we were closed again today (especially since vince got a call from his work last night saying they were closed again)... but unfortunately, no such luck. There were no emails saying anything about the office being closed. I was a little disappointed to say the least..

Since all the roads around our house were still completely covered in snow I decided to wait a little bit before going in to work (one of the best parts of my job is that I don't have set hours I can kind of make my own schedule, as long as the work gets done no one cares what hours you technically work). Vince offered to drive me because he knows how much I hate driving in the snow (and because he wanted to have my car for the day since his isn't 4WD) and we left the house around 9am. When we pulled up to the office parking lot I noticed there were only 2 other cars parked when normally the lot is packed (especially since most people are at the office by 8am), but the lights were on and the doors were unlocked so I figured everyone was just running late like me and so I thanked the hubby for dropping me off and I went inside.

About 2 minutes after I got into my office and turned on the computer, one of the guys from the warehouse came up and asked what I was doing at work..

"ummm... it's not snowing anymore and I didn't get an email about work being closed so I assumed we were open?"

Yea.. well after he finished laughing at me for coming in the day after our area gets "the most snow in history" he said, "we need to make sure you get added to our call list, I guess they decided not to send an email and just call everyone today and you must not be on the list yet".  Oh, well yea that would nice. So glad I just made my husband wake up on his day off to drive me to work, when I didn't need to be here... AND now I am here with NO car to leave in.

So, I figured since I was already here I would go ahead and get a little work done and then call Vince to come pick me back up in a couple of hours. Yea.. well that was the plan at least, but that was 5 hours ago and yet I am still here. Why you ask.. because shortly after I decided to stay my boss stopped by the office too and when he saw I was here he was like "oh great, now we can take the phones off the answering service and stay open for the day" (yea "great" wouldn't have been my first choice of a word, but ok..) "you don't mind helping with the phones since all the secretaries are out do you" No, of course not. I would love to stay here and answer the phones while everyone else stays home and enjoys the snow day.

So yea, that is how I ended up working when technically my office is closed for the day. But hey, at least it makes me look like a star employee to my boss, right? (I have to get bonus points for this! haha) And since hardly anyone else is even here, it's not like it's a very busy day.. so I guess I really shouldn't complain. (Except for the fact that I would much rather be curled up on the couch with Vice and Ty watching movies all day)

Well at least it's Thursday, which means tomorrow is FRIDAY! Plus Vince is taking me to PF Changs for dinner tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day a little early (since we will be away), so I have that to look forward to too!

Hope all of you that ARE home right now are enjoying your snow day :o)  and to those of you who are at work like me.. only one more day till the weekend! haha

Snowed In :)

At 4pm yesterday the office manager let everyone know the office would be closed today due to the snow storm coming. I was SO excited! I haven't had a snow day since school and it makes me feel like a kid again haha.

Vince found out he was off too, so he called one of his best friends Dave to come over last night to get snowed in with us. We rented a couple movies and drank a little wine (well they drank beer, I had wine) Then this morning I got up early to get some work done so that I can have the rest of the afternoon to just relax with the boys.

I got this in an email yesterday and I thought it described our current situation pretty well haha...

******
I also just saw that Kelly at Keeping up with Kelly & Co passed on this sunshine award to me. Kelly's blog is super cute and always one of the first that I check in the mornings! So thanks Kelly for the award, it's nice to add a little sunshine to a cloudy snowy day :)

Happy Wednesday everyone, only 2 more days till the weekend!

Valentine's Day Fun and Top 2 Tuesday

As I mentioned before Katie put together a fun little Valentine's Day swap for all of her followers, and yesterday I got my package in the mail :)

My partner for the swap was Jennifer at Crazy Shenanigans and I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to her for being so sweet and sending me such a nice gift! Make sure to check out her blog too!

I was going to wait until it was actually Valentine's day to post this, but we are going to Vermont to go skiing for the weekend (and my family is flying in and meeting us there too, YAY!), so I figured I would post it now instead.

my box full of goodies:

Such a nice way to celebrate Valentine's Day :)
Thanks again Jennifer!!

********
Since it is Tuesday I also wanted to join in Taylor's Top Two Tuesday Post:

Grab My Button

My Top 2 DREAM JOBS are:

1. A celebrity wedding and event planner. Like Mindy Weiss or David Tutera. This would hands down be my dream job, I can't think of anything else that I would enjoy more.

2. for a second choice I would have to say an interior decorator. I took a couple of design classes in school and always found it so interesting and think it would be a lot of fun.

******
Well I have to go get lots of work done now since apparently we are getting ANOTHER major snow storm tonight/tomorrow. (if you read my previous post, you understand why I am not a huge fan of snow in the middle of the week. UGH)

Hope you all are having a good week so far, and if you have to be out driving in the snow be safe!

Happy Sunday

It's been a nice relaxing (and very snowy.. we got 2ft!) weekend and we get to finish it off with a little super bowl party at my in-laws house... but before I start making some yummy appetizers for that, I wanted to take part in Keely's getting to know you Sunday questions:

Here are the questions..

1. How many piercing's do you have?
I used to have 2 piercings in each ear, but I let the second hole close after high school and when I was 14 I got my belly button pierced, but I actually just took the ring out last month. I guess I decided after 10 years it was time to get rid of that too haha.

2. I love the sound of.....?
a fire crackling in a fireplace on a cold winter night, and also the sound of Ty's little bitty snore as he starts to fall asleep ;)

3. Favorite city?
Charlotte, NC. I can't really explain why, but I have loved it there since I was a kid. I know it's not a huge exciting city like New York, but to be honest I have never been a big fan of NY. Of course I love to go there to shop and see Broadway plays every now and then, but I don't know if I could live there. If I had the option of moving anywhere tomorrow, I think I would pick Charlotte.

4. Colts, Saints, or could care less?
Honestly I couldn't care less, I am more interested in watching the commercials. Now if the EAGLES were playing, then it would be a different story.

5. Frozen yogurt or ice cream?
Actually neither. I like regular yogurt, but not frozen.. and for some reason I have never really liked ice cream (which Vince finds extremely odd haha).

6. Favorite appetizer?
7 layer Mexican dip. I could eat the whole thing by myself if I wanted to.

7. What item in your closet currently makes you the happiest?
Leggings. They are so comfortable, I would wear them everyday if I could.

8. Favorite facial moisturizer?
OLAY Definity Restorative Cream (both day and night kind)

You know you are growing up when..

... you are glad it snows on the weekend and not in the middle of the week.

In a few hours from now we are supposed to start getting lots and lots of snow, and some of my coworkers were talking about how their kids were complaining that it wasn't snowing already so they could get the day off of school. It made me think about how much I used to love snow days as a kid... but these days, not so much. I dread it when they call for snow during the week, because all that means to me is that I have drive in it to work  (and I am not a fan of driving in the snow).

However, when they call for snow on the weekends I don't mind it so much. All snow means on a weekend is that I have an excuse to not go anywhere, and instead I can stay snowed in all day with my hubby and ty <3 Which sounds like a pretty perfect weekend to me ;)

(plus if I do want to go somewhere, vince doesn't mind driving in snow at all haha)

So cheers to a weekend filled with movies, relaxing, wine, making snowmen, hot chocolate (preferably irish), and watching the SNOW fall knowing I have no where to go :)

**To all you who are also dealing with this winter storm have fun, be safe driving, and try to stay warm!

is it really almost Valentine's Day?

While out shopping today for my gift for the "simply love" valentine's day swap over at my friend Katie's blog, I realized how quickly Valentine's day is coming... I feel like we just had Christmas yesterday!

So, to start celebrating the upcoming holiday I thought I would make a list of 14 things in my life I'm really loving right now (in no particular order).

 "Right now I am loving...."
1. my hubby (for too many reasons to list)
2. Ty, aka my little man ;)
3. my family (even though I am not loving that they live so far away)
4. each of my friends <3
5. the new PS I love you perfume from Bath and Body Works (seriously smells SO good!)
6. reading the book Dear John while sipping on hot tea
7. planning a trip to DC to see some of my favorite Hokies :)
8. my automatic car starter so I don't have to freeze in the mornings
9. my blackberry. (no explanation needed)
10. Saturday game nights with friends
11. how good work has been going lately (**knock on wood)
12. catching up on the past seasons of One Tree Hill. (I just started watching last month and I'm already on season 5 haha)
13. counting down to our Disney vacation.
14. and last, but certainly not least... all of my fabulous new blog friends ;)

Now, join in and tell me what you're loving lately :o)

Wishful Wednesday

This weeks Wishful Wednesday topic:

'I wish' .... I could have stolen PINK's spotlight at the Grammy's!

I thought her performance was the best of the night. It was so entertaining to watch and I bet she had a blast doing it too!

And I actually really liked her dress too.. plus she had $2.5 Million worth on Neil Lane diamonds on, and what girl wouldn't want that ;)

Now it's your turn, join in the Wishful Wednesday posts at http://kelseyandgabriel.blogspot.com/ and tell us who you would pick :)

Not Me Monday

I did not have a great time on Friday on the ski trip. It did not make my day today when I got multiple emails from clients who were on the trip saying what a good time they had.

This weekend did not go by way too fast as always...

I did not start cracking up last night when I got this message from Vince after I sent him to the grocery store to get a cucumber that I needed for dinner... "how awkward.. I was behind Mr. Hancock in line and all I had was a cucumber and hair gel" (Mr. Hancock was one of his football coaches from high school). Nope I wouldn't find that funny, I am not that immature.

I did not stay up and watch all of the Grammys last night. I did not think that it was a really good show. My favorite part was not watching the red carpet. I do not wish I was famous just so that I could wear some of these awesome dresses...

It was not extremely hard to get out of bed this morning. I do not want to go crawl back into it right now.

I am not very thankful that Vince just sent me an email asking if we could go out to dinner tonight.. I would never go spend money on dinner rather than just make something myself.

I am not already looking forward to Friday when Monday is not even over...

Well here's hoping we all have a good (and fast) week!

(join in the "not me! monday" posts at MckMama's blog)
