Easter

Wow.. is Easter really this Sunday?! That came up SO fast! PLUS April 4th is also Vince's Birthday... so I need to finish getting his gift together and make an Easter basket for our nephew.

I always love dying Easter eggs (not really sure why? haha), and would love to do them this year.. but I'm just not sure we have the time!

Tomorrow night we are meeting our realtor to see a bunch of houses, Friday night we are going to Philly with some friends to celebrate Vince's birthday and are all staying at a hotel.. and then Easter will be the typical church and brunch in the morning and dinner with Vince's family in the evening. It will all be fun and maybe we'll just have to wait and dye eggs next year ;o) haha.

SO, what are all of you doing for Easter?

Not Me Monday

I am not SUPER busy today (so please forgive me if this is short, or if there are typos because I am typing this super fast! haha)... and also not proud of how much I got accomplished on a Monday!

I did not have a great time on Saturday at Shelley's shower and bachelorette party. (It's always nice to have nights out with just the girls!)

I did not literally just get a picture message from my best friend Kaitlin (while actually typing this post) of her new baby niece, who was just born! She is not SO freaking adorable!!.. and no it did not make me think about having babies... haha ;)

Vince and I did not drop Ty off at the groomers yesterday and then spend ALL afternoon driving around looking at houses. I do not love this part of buying a new house. (but seriously.. I get so happy looking at all the different places.. it's like an obsession)

and speaking of obsessions.. I am NOT 100% addicted to watching HGTV. It is not on all the time at my house.

I am not looking forward to leaving work soon to go meet Angela and Steph for dinner. I do not love getting together with them just to hang out and catch up for a little bit!

I did not get excited yesterday when Vince said he wanted to go to Ruth's Chris Tuesday night for dinner. (as a way of celebrating selling our first house!) and no it does not make me smile that I do not have to cook dinner tonight or tomorrow ;o) haha

Hope you all are having a good Monday! (1 day down, 4 to go!)

(Make sure to join in the Not Me Monday fun over at MckMama's blog!)

SOLD!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that we had a couple who were interested in purchasing our house, but since then we have been waiting because they had to get out of their lease... so tonight at about 5pm we finally got their offer (and it was a very good offer!) and we accepted! So.. after only 1 month on the market, we have officially sold our townhouse!

We are both really looking forward to being able to really start looking at single homes now. (we actually went tonight to walk through a model home of a neighborhood we like.. haha)

We will be officially handing over our keys on May 13th. Which means we only have 7 weeks until we are homeless! We have spent a lot of time thinking about what we want and I think we have both decided that we would like to build a new home. Obviously there is no way we are going to find exactly what we want and have it built in under 2 months... so that leaves us with the following 2 options...

1. rent an apartment while we wait to get into our next house
or
2. move in with Vince's parents. (who have been so nice in offering to let us live with them for free)

We have weighed both options and it definitely makes most sense for us to stay with his parents. They have a house more than large enough for us, plus their basement is finished and they don't use it, so we are going to make that kind of like our own apartment. We are hoping that by the end of summer/early fall our house will be ready... but for now staying with them gives us more time to save extra money for all of the many things that go along with buying a new house.

Anyways.. I am going to go now to watch HGTV and look at more homes online (no joke.. that is seriously what we are doing right now! haha), but I had to share that news real quick because we really are so excited about selling!

I will keep you all updated with the search for our new home ;o)

Happy Thursday!

Wishful Wednesday

Wow is it really Wednesday already? I woke up this morning and seriously thought it was only Tuesday for about 10min before I realized what day it was.. I told you weeks fly by when I'm super busy at work.. haha.

Besides for being busy, this week at work has been pretty good so far! Plus the weather today is gorgeous and I just booked my flights to go to visit my family for my sister's prom weekend.. so I'm in a pretty good mood right now :)

Alright well I'm going to go for a quick run while the suns still out and then I'm heading over to my in-laws for dinner. Hope you are all having a good week! (it's halfway over!)

This weeks Wishful Wednesday topic:

'I wish' .... I could afford this ______ handbag without putting a dent in my pocketbook!

OK, so I'm not 100% sure exactly which one I would want, but I do know I would want it to be a MARC JACOBS handbag.

and really any of these would do just fine ;o) ...

(Join in the Wishful Wednesday posts at Kelsey's blog and let us know what handbag you want!)

Not Me Monday

The rain today does not make me super lazy.. (which is part of the reason I have taken so long to post this week's not me Monday..)

Vince and I did not have a great time skiing in Vermont this weekend. I do not love spring skiing and not having to bundle up as much! (it's so nice to actually be able to move when I ski haha)

We did not go out to a nice dinner Saturday night and then sit at the bar in the lodge listening to live music. The guy performing was not awesome.. we did not end up buying his cd that night.

On Sunday I did not make Vince stop at the very first Walmart I saw on the ride back so that I could buy New Moon. I did not also make him promise that we could watch it after dinner that night. (and yes I' had already seen it, but I was still very excited to watch it again haha)

I did not finally start reading The Last Song on our way back to PA. (I bought it to read over a month ago, but got caught up in a couple other books instead) I was not hooked after just the first couple of pages. I am not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan :)

Vince and I were not super excited to pick Ty up from his parent's hosue when we got home. We are not very thankful to have family around to watch him when we go away. (I would feel too bad having to leave him in a kennel haha) It's kind of pathetic how much we can miss a dog.. I can only imagine what we will be like when we have kids.. haha

I'm not kind of glad to have another busy week at work, because it makes the week go by faster. Now if only it were May already so we could be getting ready for our vacation, that would be fabulous..
I am not looking forward to going to a friend's bridal shower and bachelorette party on Saturday. (It is officially wedding season.. and we have a LOT of weddings this year! lol)

I am not getting ready to watch 24 with the hubby, followed by reading in bed until I fall asleep... hope you all have a good night!

Happy Monday :o)

Fill in the Blank and Funny Friday

In case you didn't know.. it's FRIDAY :) and that means it's time for Lauren's Fill in the Blank Friday AND Kelly's Funny Fridays (well it also means that Vince and I are leaving this afternoon for our last ski trip of the season haha)... so make sure to go to their blogs and join in the fun too :)

Fill in the blank..

1. Today I am wearing a purple and black flowy shirt with black dress pants and flats.

2. My favorite childhood food was hot dogs (I would seriously ask my mom to make me a hotdog on toast for breakfast when I was little... kind of weird, I know.) and my favorite food now is ...anything MEXICAN. I love it all.

3. A day that I am too busy to shower is a day that I am too busy. (and I promise that very rarely happens! haha)

4. The last movie I saw was Shutter Island and the next movie I want to see is Alice in Wonderland.

5. My favorite smell is clean sheets because, there is nothing better after a long day than curling up in bed with sheets just out of the dryer.

6. A weird little quirk I have is that I have to have my cloest organized by season and color. I know no one but Vince and I see the inside of our closet, but it is still probably the most organized/clean place in my entire house. I know it's odd, but true

7. When I take personality quizzes they always say... to be honest, I don't even know the last time I took a personality quiz. I have taken work related quizzes about sales and they always come out I am good at meeting new people and buidling relationships?

Funny Friday..

Keeping Up With Kelly & Co

A friend forwarded me this email earlier in the week with nothing but pictures, and I found them pretty amusing and thought I would pass it along for this weeks Funny Friday (with my additional comments of course lol). The email was titled, "Weddings - and you thought Walmart was bad"... haha ENJOY ;o)

Wifey on your butt.. is that really necessary on a wedding dress? (or any clothes for that matter..)

I know some people don't want to wear traditional wedding dresses, but this is a bit much..

It's kind of sad that her husband pulling off her garter with his teeth is the most normal part of this picture..

It's OK if the groom doesn't want to wear a tux, but CAMO is NOT acceptable at a wedding. Sorry.

REALLY?! It's a wedding people, NOT a halloween party.

That is one classy bride.

I'm speechless..

HAPPY FRIDAY! Hope you all have a great weekend planned!

How to make a towel cake..

Jessica at Acting Adult mentioned that maybe I should do a how-to for the towel cake I posted a picture of earlier and since it was SO easy to make I thought it was a good idea! Plus it's a really cute gift for anyone going to a wedding shower :o)

So here is what you need to get started:

2 bath towels
2 hand towels
2 washcloths
large safety pins
decorative straight pins
flowers and ribbons to decorate the cake (I like to get them in the wedding colors)

Then just follow these 5 easy steps:
 1. Start with the 2 large bath towels. fold them both in thirds long ways and line them up to the ends match up perfectly. Then use the safety pins to secure them together like pictured..

2. Next simply roll the towels to form the base of the cake. (try to roll it tightly) Use the straight pins to keep it together..  (I took this picture after I was done with the entire thing, but you can see the pins I put in after I rolled the towels)

3. Repeat the first two steps with both the hand towels and washcloths. The only thing that changes is that for the washcloths you fold them in half instead of in thirds.

4. Now that all 3 layer are done, stack them on top of each other and use the straight pins to secure them in place.  (also make sure to line up the straight pins you used to keep the towels together in the back like this picture)

5. Now the fun part.. decorate your cake! I started with the ribbon that I wrapped around each layer and secured at the ends with straight pins and then for the flowers I just stuck them into the folded layers (on the bottom layer I used a couple of pins to hold the flowers since there wasn't a towel underneath to stick them into.)

And then you're DONE!

See, I told you it was super easy AND super cute ;-)

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for..

late night heart to hearts with my husband

diet dr pepper in the morning to help me wake up.. (I don't drink coffee, so I needed some kind of caffeine)

finally getting the time to put together the towel cake for my friends bridal shower.. (I think it turned out pretty cute?!)

a weekend ski trip to Vermont with just Vince.. I love our mini getaways <3

a new blog award from my friend angela... make sure to check out her blog!!

and once again for the absolutely gorgeous day we are having here in pa ;)

Happy Thursday!

I'm smiling today..

..all because it's BEAUTIFUL outside!

I LOVE this weather, I live for the warm sunshine. Days like this always put me in a good mood... it gets me excited for SPRING and no longer having to worry about those annoying cold snowy days.

It started getting warmer last week and I can already see the difference it's made on my house... I have the windows open whenever it's warm enough, I put out a new wreath on my front door, and I currently have lots of pretty spring flowers all over my house..

(please excuse the slightly blurry pictures, I took them on my blackberry)

ahh... it's amazing how much weather can really affect your mood :)

Well hope you all are having a great St. Patty's Day.. are you wearing green today? I am!

We are going to meet a few friends out tonight to celebrate st. patty's, but nothing too crazy..  anyone else doing anything fun tonight?! :)

Top 2 Tuesdays

I know it's not technically Tuesday yet, but I have a conference all day so I figured I would go ahead and post it now...

This week Taylor's Top Two Tuesday topic is..
Favorite Celebrity Styles

1. Lauren Conrad. I just think she always looks super cute and perfectly put together. She has such a great style and I would absolutely LOVE to have her closet. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to dress like her.

2. Jessica Simpson. I think she has a great sense of style. She has a way of looking stylish in whether it be everyday comfy clothes, red carpet dresses, or anything in between.

Plus I absolutely LOVE her line of shoessss :)

OK, now I'm off to bed before I fall asleep sitting up... but hope you all have a great day tomorrow!
make sure to go over to Taylor's blog and let us know whose style you like!

Not Me Monday

I did not press the snooze button repeatedly this morning. I'm never lazy, I always jump right out of bed when the alarm goes off..

I did not get really good news at work on Friday about an account I have been working on for awhile, and I did not get even more good news for another account today at work :)
I am not completely sick of all the rain we have been getting the past few days.. I am not praying for the sun to come out soon!

I did not have a great weekend with Amy, we did not go out with friends on Friday and Saturday night and we did not both sleep in very late on Sunday because of it haha..

my p.i.c <3

Cheers!

me and steph

Amy and I do not love our new tattoos ;-)

I am not looking forward to watching Jessica Simpson's new show tonight The Price of Beauty.. (hopefully it's good!)
Speaking of shows I did not watch the new show Pretty Wild.. I did not find the girls really annoying (it's not a show I plan to watch anymore)

Ok, gotta run! HAPPY MONDAY everyone :o)

My first tattoo :)

As I mentioned last week, my friend Amy was coming up this weekend to visit and we were getting tattoos together. It's something we have both talked about for awhile and really wanted to do together. Our other friend Ashley was supposed to go with us too, but found out last week she wouldn't be able to make it up this weekend... so I promised her I would still go with her soon to get hers too. (We actually had planned on all 3 of us getting them done when we all met up in DC last month, but we ended up deciding to wait until now)

So now you're probably wondering what exactly we got and why....

Well we all went to Virginia Tech together and the year of the shooting we were seniors.. and to say it was a life changing experience would be an understatement. It's something that was obviously horrible and devastating and simply impossible to put into words, but at the same time it was something we went through together and it brought all of us closer, not only as a school but even closer with the girls who were already my best friends.

It's something that really taught us just how precious life is and that since you never know what the future may hold you should always live each day to the fullest. We love Virginia Tech and we are proud to be Hokies, and we wanted something to represent that.

We each chose to get something different.. Amy got hokie foot prints (aka hokie tracks), Ashley is getting the roman numerial for 32, and I wanted "live for 32" (because 32 people lost their lives that day)

SO, without further ado here are the pictures:

getting started (please excuse the frizzy hair, it was a very rainy day! haha)

Amy was sitting right by me getting hers too (and our friend Kristen came along too!)

ALL DONE!

(mine is on the inside of my left heel)

Amy's Hokie tracks :)

We had a really good time and are both so glad we did it! If you are thinking about getting a tattoo I would definitely say go for it! :) I was shocked at how quickly it was done (like 10 min!) and the pain was really not that bad at all!

The rest of the weekend was a lot of fun too, and I will post more pics from that later... but right now I am exhausted and going to be early for once!

Hope you all had a great weekend :)

Fill in the Blank and Funny Friday

Yay, it's FRIDAY :) and that means it's time for Lauren's Fill in the Blank Friday AND Kelly's Funny Fridays... make sure to join in the fun too :)

Fill in the blank..

1. The best day ever was the day I got married. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's so true. Not only was I marrying my best friend and getting ready to start our lives together, but I got to spend the day celebrating with all of the my wonderful family and friends.

2. My favorite meal of the day is dinner because on a week night it means the work day is over and it's time to relax with the hubby and on weekends it means we're going out to eat ;)

3. This weekend amy and I are finally getting our tattoos.. don't worry there will be pictures later..

4. Never in my life have I done anything crazy like bungee jumping or ski diving.. BUT at some point I would really like to try doing both!

5. The only thing better than it finally being the weekend is it being a weekend with Amy visiting ;-)

6. I could really do with some extra sleep right now. Vince and I stayed up late watching a movie last night and now I am totally regretting that decision... haha.

7. The most recent thing I bought myself was this cute dress from Kohl's last week.

Funny Friday
Keeping Up With Kelly & Co

Ok for this weeks funny Friday.. I got this email that literally made me laugh out loud at work so I thought I would share..

Disorder in the American Courts

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.

***
ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active?
WITNESS: No, I just lie there.

***
ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?

***
ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
WITNESS: Are you shitting me?

***
ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?
WITNESS: Yes..
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS : Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?

***
ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Unless the Circus was in town I'm going with male

***
ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.

***
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.

OK.. sorry that was so long, but you have to admit they were pretty funny!

Happy Friday :)

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that I am done with the trade show this week.. (I do like doing them, but driving back and forth all week just made it seem very long)
I am thankful that Amy, one of my best friends from college, is coming up from DC to spend the weekend with us!

I am thankful to have a mother-in-law who volunteers to come pick up Ty when people come see our house in the middle of work day... I wouldn't want my 4lb dog to scare people away.. (but seriously, we put a gate up in the kitchen for him during the day so it's nice when she picks him up so they don't have to step over it)

I am thankful for all of the emails back and forth with kaite, my former big sister in my sorority, they may make me miss her more, but they always make me laugh too ;-)
(and by the way katie you really need to start a blog!!)

I am thankful for all of the save the date cards on my fridge right now. I am really happy that so many of our friends are getting married and I LOVE going to weddings. (even if I am going to be broke after they are all over haha)

and last but not least I am thankful for the hour long conversation I had with my mom today, I really needed it <3

Happy ALMOST weekend everybody :o)

Wishful Wednesday

This weeks wishful Wednesday topic:

'I wish' .... I could wear/could have worn _____ dress on my wedding day!

Well, I wish I could have worn a dress personally designed for me by Vera Wang on my wedding day!

Now don't get me wrong, I really did love my wedding dress.. but who wouldn't want Vera to create a perfect dress for them on their special day ;)

(Join in the Wishful Wednesday posts at Kelsey's blog)

******

OK well that's all for now. This week has been really busy (I have been at a trade show for most of it) and tonight I finally get a chance to relax before getting up super early to get back to the show... so I am going to go lay around and watch a movie with Vince, but hope you all are having a great week so far and I'll post more tomorrow!

Monday, March 8, 2010

ABC's..

I am SO exhausted today, but at least Monday is over!

This weekend was a lot of fun.. Friday we went out with Vince's family and some of their friends and on Saturday we went out for our friends Jason's birthday.

The birthday boy and his wife Steph :)

There were 8 of us and we went to dinner first and then out to a little tavern type bar around here..  it was a really good time :)

Then on Sunday we got some good news about our house! We actually found out Thursday last week that there was a buyer who may be interested and they emailed us with some questions. So we emailed them back the answers and were just kind of waiting to hear from them. Then on Sunday morning I checked my email and their realtor sent us a message letting me know that they got preapproved and that now they just want to walk through one more time and we should be getting an official written offer by the end of this week!!

We are both very excited and shocked that we might be getting an offer after only being on the market for a couple of weeks...  but we're also trying not to think about it too much so if something happens and it doesn't work out we wont be too disappointed. (we did go look at a couple of house yesterday afternooon though haha)

So until we get something in writing we will be keeping our fingers crossed.. I will keep you updated!!

Fill in the Blank and Funny Friday

It's Friday again, THANK GOODNESS, and that means it's time for Lauren's Fill in the Blank Friday AND Kelly's Funny Fridays. If you aren't doing so already, make sure to join in :)

Fill in the Blank..

1. One thing I MUST do before I die is.. I'm going to have to agree with Lauren on this one and say to be a mom. Even though I am not ready right this moment, it is something I think about a LOT and can't wait to experience.

2. I would rather spend a night in with my husband, a bottle of wine, and a good movie than go out to a bar any day. (well ok most days.. there are times when I would rather get out of the house haha)

3. If I could give my younger self one piece of advice it would be don't stress as much about the little things... especially back in high school, I feel like I used to spend a lot of time worrying about a lot of things that never really mattered to begin with.

4. If I won the lottery tomorrow I'd buy a new house on a nice piece of land and open up my own little boutique.

5. The best surprise ever was last year when Vince planned a surprise trip to the Fingerlakes in NY for my birthday with some of our best friends. There were 8 of us and we had a limo drive us around to a bunch of different wineries and then stayed the night up there... we all had SO much fun and it was definitely the best surprise ever.

6. My biggest fault is not always standing up for myself. It is something I have been working on and have definitely gotten better at, but there are still times when I know I am letting people walk all over me.

7. My biggest strength is... I guess I would have to say being organized and a hard worker. It is something I have always gotten a lot of compliments from bosses and past teachers about.

Keeping Up With Kelly & Co

Lately I have been getting tons of emails with jokes about all of the crazy amounts of snow we have gotten this winter... so these are just a few of the ones that I thought were pretty funny ;)

Happy Friday everyone... hope you all have a great weekend!

Thankful Thursday

First off I am so very thankful that today is Thursday and the weekend is literally just around the corner. I don't know why, but this week has seemed never ending..

I am thankful that we have had a couple more showings for our house over the past couple of days. Obviously I would love it if it would sell, but at least we are getting some good feedback!

I am thankful for Midnight in Moscow by OPI that I am wearing right now ;o)
I am thankful for all of the wonderful forms of technology that help me stay connected with my family even though they are far away. (for example: getting picture messages of my sister trying on her prom dress so that I can still give my input even when I'm not there! haha)

I am thankful that we are going to Bonefish for dinner this weekend for a friend's birthday because I am obsessed with their bang bang shrimp. mmm.. just thinking about it makes me hungry!

I am VERY thankful that it is finally ALMOST spring :o) There are still a few more weeks of winter, but for the first time in what feels like forever we have had a week with NO snow! YAY! lol

and last but not least.. I am thankful for Brandi at Life with Sweet Cheeks for passing on this award to me. She is a super sweet girl and I love reading her blog, so if you aren't following her already make sure to do so <3

Thanks again Brandi!

Happy Thursday everyone :)
